THIS is just the beginning. The really cold air and the really heavy snow is due later in the day, but snow is already falling today across the high country of New South Wales and Victoria.
And yes, it's December 5. The fifth day of summer. Your calendar is not wrong.
Snow is not a freak event in southern Australia in the warmer months. A small dusting usually appears on the higher parts of the Australian Alps at least once each summer.
You really don't expect it to snow in Australia much, let alone in summer. While this did happen a couple of years ago, this snowfall seems pretty heavy in comparision.

It doesn't snow 5 days into summer here.
Help! The hemispheres are switching!
Let's get Mr Manhatten involved
Snow can fall upside-down? What sorcery is this?
Canada needs some of that snow send it here :(
And here in Florida we had summer temperatures. Bah weather.
God if it's snowing in summer maybe the coverage next ski season will not be shit as it always is
It was about 14-18 Celsius all day here in Illinois. But a winter storm is supposed to hit tomorrow.
But seriously, snow in the summer is not ordinary.
I've never seen snow.
I've never seen snow.
You haven't missed much. Fuck snow
Here in Florida it's summer all year round.
Help! The hemispheres are switching!
Lets see if we even get snow this year.
[editline]4th December 2013[/editline]
Snow was predicted last week, but the day it was supposed to snow all the clouds fucked off and it dried out.
And as usual Manchester is just rainy and cold...
Canada needs some of that snow send it here :(

You haven't missed much. Fuck snow
Snow is fantastic until the time comes to pick up a shovel.
Snow is fantastic until the time comes to pick up a shovel.
No, snow means it's winter, and winter is cold, and the cold sucks
No, snow means it's winter, and winter is cold, and the cold sucks
Beats sweating like a pig and going to the toilet 8 times a day from all the water you're inevitably going to drink.
Not to mention all the goddamn bugs jesus christ
Snow can fall upside-down? What sorcery is this?
Before snow falls, it has to rise. It does that from my side of the planet, and the snow that doesn't fall end up going to the northern hemisphere, and falling on you.
After going through a huge blizzard in Alberta, fuck no keep that white shit away from me.
If the rest of Canada wants some we'll gladly export it to the other provinces though.
It's hot, muggy, and windy in Maitland, NSW atm...
Meanwhile in Texas we have nothing. It's December and we still have leaves on the trees here and I fucking hate it goddamnit.
It snowed in Lubbock a few days before Thanksgiving
First thing came to mind is America is taking over in the name of the war on Christmas.
If the rest of Canada wants some we'll gladly export it to the other provinces though.
In southern Ontario there is like nothing like holy shit I miss the snow man I need it, it's just cold weather without the snow it's so boring :(
No, snow means it's winter, and winter is cold, and the cold sucks
This could possibly spark a debate and derail this thread, and if it does I'm sorry:
I think hot weather sucks because even if you take off your clothes it's still fucking hot.
Cold weather, you can put on jackets and stuff and thus you can actually do something about the cold.
Putting on clothes in the cold works, while taking them off in hot weather doesn't. (in my experience)
[editline]4th December 2013[/editline]
That's my reasoning anyway
