• CPU fan has died

My CPU fan has died (Hyper 212 Evo), and it's death would explain why I've been getting constant bluescreens for the past 2 weeks when doing anything CPU intensive. My problem is, should I buy myself another fan to replace it, or should I try sending the heatsink + fan back and getting a replacement? (I've bought it from PCCG, but I doubt they're the ones that handle returns for faulty parts) Right now I'm running off of my old heatsink with my CPU at stock clocks. Any help at all would be great.
I'm surprised that the motherboard didn't notify you that the fan wasn't spinning on boot. It should be a fairly standard size, so I can't imagine a new fan would be hard to find or be all that expensive. Of course, how much you want to spend is up to you.

I think I'll take your advice and get myself a new CPU fan, and some more thermal paste for good measure. It'll set me back 40 odd dollars but at least I won't have to worry about it failing again. Cheers for the help!
