Even if you don't watch much football, he has become an icon of the club and football in general. He was at it for a long long time.
He's been the manager for over 26 years so my entire life; going to be so strange supporting Man U without him being at the helm. I don't think anyone will ever surpass his achievements.
Isn't this some form of world record?

He was the longest serving manager in English League football at 26 years, 183 days, being appointed on 6 November 1986.
It feels like the whole footballworld Will change just because of this. While that isn't true, it will be so fucked up to see someone else coaching United.
Wow, I personally didn't see that coming...
I guess because he's been around for so damn long...
I guess, wherever he is, MUFC2007 is shedding a tear (or trying to sell bootleg Man United gear).
Fantastic manager and a great tenure at one of the best clubs in England and from that perspective he will be missed. Niceties aside i don't like the guy, his words carried too much weight both off and on the pitch.
Ehhh, he was a brilliant manager but he was a bit of a prick in my book.
Played for my local team (Dunfermline Athletic) during their golden decade so I can't dislike him too much.
