Jesus christ. I mean, I've the same 1000w psu I had back in ~2006 when I was running 2 overclocked GTX 8800 ultra's in SLI (that card was like 400W stock iirc, that or I was running 3 of em, either way I was definitely using that 1000w, believe me), so I'm no stranger to having a stupidly OP psu considering I'm now running a single OC'd 760Ti (long story there) in my system with that psu as a transplant from the old system , but idk man, for most non-niche applications where you NEED 1200W, there's about $850 give or take that you really, really could spend on better things in your system.

I think the makers pretty clearly did not expect everybody to buy this as a "must-have" upgrade to their performance or anything, they were doing R&D on how they could make the best power supply possible with a really high capacity and they're selling what they came up with to enthusiasts to offset R&D costs.

Definitely. Though I can think of a few enterprise applications for it as well. It's a good product I'm sure, and maybe the quality offsets the price point considering the life of the thing may as well be measurable in decades considering the higher quality parts for all I know.
