[release]
Stanton Baby "Immersed" in Scalding Water
//Source + Video NewsWest9.com ______________________________ STANTON - Stanton is usually a quiet town, but on Tuesday and throughout Wednesday, it's been turned upside down. On Tuesday night, the police were called to the Martin County Hospital. They were told a baby boy had been brought in after being badly burned while he was left alone with his mother's boyfriend. The incident happened at a nearby house where the mother lives. When she went to work on Tuesday, she left her child inside under the care of her boyfriend. NewsWest 9 learned that while the mother was at work, her boyfriend contacted her and told her that her son had been burned. She came home, picked him up and drove him straight to the hospital. The baby's burns were so severe that he had to be flown to Lubbock for further care. NewsWest 9 talked to the University Medical Center on Wednesday afternoon and they tell us the baby is in serious condition with at least 2nd degree burns covering his body. NewsWest 9 was unable to gain images of the boy. That's because he needs to be kept in a sterile environment to avoid infections. Bringing cameras inside the burn unit could jeopardize that. Law enforcement learned the boyfriend, 24-year-old Dominick Peña, had "immersed" the boy in "scalding" hot water. Martin County Sheriff, John Woodward, says, "There's all different types of crimes that are committed but the nature of this one is just different. It's just horrible." Peña was arrested and charged with injury to a child, a 1st degree felony offense. Peña is being held in the Martin County Jail while an investigation is underway. Sheriff Woodward adds, "You just have to think outside of being a human and just think as an officer and do your job according to the law because it's hard to not be really upset with this." NewsWest 9 requested a jailhouse interview but that was denied.[/release] There are no words.
Why the broad face?
Scum.
PICS OR IT DIDN'T HAPPEN! Oh wait... This article isn't giving his side of the story at all. I'm waiting to pass judgment on the guy. This may have been done on accident. He did call the mom as soon as it happened. Not saying he doesn't deserve some sort of Darwin Award similar title, but I'm not going to jump to conclusions.
He may of forgotten to add cold water to a bath?
PICS OR IT DIDN'T HAPPEN! Oh wait...
that's stupid
This article isn't giving his side of the story at all. I'm waiting to pass judgment on the guy. That's horrible, everyone knows that babies only taste good when deep fried.
This article isn't giving his side of the story at all. I'm waiting to pass judgment on the guy.
He was obviously doing it in self defense.
He was obviously doing it in self defense.
sounds like reasonable force to me those babies can be vicious bastards
Holy shit jeez I got 2nd degree burns on my wrist from scalding water once. It's not pretty.

Why does the article read like a 12 year old wrote it?

:Smith:, so much :smith: Just WHY would an idea like that come into your mind Any person with even the smallest shadow of a set of morals would still never kill a baby, and NEVER in the way this guy did. I mean, that is a horrible way to die.
He may have been trying to make a bath, but he either A. Misjudged the temperature of the water B. Didn't realize how sensitive baby's skin is C. Forgot to add cold water That's the only way I could even begin to understand why something like this would happen.
How can a camera destroy sterile environment? I need to push that metal suit plan forward or else we will have cameras as weapons of mas destructon!
Are you 12?
I'm a poor writer. So yes, I guess you could say I'm 12 as far as my writing skill goes. Or at least my ability to form sentences.
It seems to me that he fucked up when trying to give the baby a bath, or at least that's what I can gather from the fact that the article leaves out any mention of motive. If he did it out of cold blood, then I'd expect it to say that. Article sounds sort of biased in that regard. I'm not condoning what he did, he's dangeorusly negligent even if he isn't downright malicious, but I don't know if the guy just decided 'Hell yeah time to boil me a fucking baby.' I wouldn't be surprised if alcohol or some other perception/judgement impairing substance was involved.

The possibility of death is VERY high.

Either he did it because the baby was annoying him or he didn't know the water was going to be so hot. I don't know, something seems odd.
A video showing what happened was leaked. 1:30 is where it's shown.

What a dick. Why do people abuse babies? They are the most harmless of all humans.
