Former Graham County, Ariz., Sheriff Richard Mack spoke about issues concerning the U.S. Constitution, including same-sex marriage. Mack says that since it appears that Herbert and other elected leaders have failed at their jobs, it’s up to law enforcement and everyday citizens to deny same-sex marriage. “The people of Utah have rights, too, not just the homosexuals. The homosexuals are shoving their agenda down our throats,” Mack said. ... Mack says that the federal government’s ruling doesn’t overrule Utah’s laws. “That’s a lie. That’s an absolute lie. We have a right to raise our kids without homosexuals being part of the Boy Scouts, the schools and teachers and doing everything. They can be all that, but don’t shove your agenda down my kid’s throat. We have a right to raise our kids how we want not how you want,” Mack said. Mack and Eager urge citizens to call upon their local leaders because change will come from the bottom-up. “The way you take back freedom in America is one county at a time. The sheriffs need to defend the county clerks in saying, ‘No, we’re not going to issue marriage licenses to homosexuals,’” Mack said.
Taking back freedom the way you take back the controller from your little brother. Would someone tell these people how the civil rights movement in the 60s played out? Make sure to include the body count on all sides.
I find it somewhat funny in the fact that it's "shoving the Gay Agenda down kids' throats" Yet his mentality is no different, and enforces the same stuff, except on the opposite side of the argument.

He's actually trying to force his ideals on to people and control the action of others. Gay couples just want the same rights afforded to straight couples and aren't seeking to force anything on to anyone.
Maybe I worded it wrong. I mean he believes what he is fighting against, is shoving it down peoples throats, yet he's being hypocritical in the fact that he himself, is trying to enforce his own views onto others also. That probably made no sense.
The point is, he's saying that the Gay Agenda(R) is trying to force their ideals on everyone... and then he's actually doing that in the other direction.
This is pretty much what I was trying to say.
Mack says that since it appears that Herbert and other elected leaders have failed at their jobs,
But they did. Their decision doesn't agree with your backwards views, but they did their job. They did what the taxpayers wanted them to do, and that was legalize same sex marriage.
But they did. Their decision doesn't agree with your backwards views, but they did their job. They did what the taxpayers wanted them to do, and that was legalize same sex marriage.
Actually, what happened in Utah is, a Federal judge overturned Utah's ban on gay marriage. With DOMA struck down, this effectively legalized it. So, this is not in fact something that Utah voters elected state politicians to do. What's going on here is a battle by the bitchy, bigoted minority claiming States' Rights when Federal power tried to drag them along into the 21st century. The very same arguments showed up in the slavery era, and the same arguments and tactics were prominently used during the black civil rights struggle. And here we are again: Some people never learn and don't want to, they just want to freeze the social strata the way it is so they can continue to hate and passively oppress those they have been raised to find distasteful.
Someone educate that Ex-sheriff on the concept of irony.
That's like trying to teach a baby calculus.
That's like trying to teach a baby calculus.
Gotta start somewhere I guess.
The amount of effort and energy these people are willing to waste on denying people rights is infuriating.
The amount of effort and energy these people are willing to waste on denying people rights is infuriating.
Whoever invents a machine that converts stupidity into energy that can easily be harnessed wins the nobel prize every year until their death.
That’s a lie. That’s an absolute lie. We have a right to raise our kids without homosexuals being part of the Boy Scouts, the schools and teachers and doing everything.
I'm sure Utah has a law that says "no fags in scouts"
The way you take back freedom in America is one county at a time.
Last I checked, legalisation of gay marriage gives everyone more rights and doesn't take any from anyone. (Not that anyone who uses "gay agenda" unironically actually has any capable brain cells left, but still)
I'm sure Utah has a law that says "no fags in scouts"
The BSA had a policy of kicking out gay scouts until about a week ago. It was a nationwide thing; now official policy is to allow gay members. Despite their obvious ties to the government (thanks Penn & Teller) there are no laws about gay scouting.
“That’s a lie. That’s an absolute lie. We have a right to raise our kids without homosexuals being part of the Boy Scouts, the schools and teachers and doing everything. The sheriffs need to defend the county clerks in saying, ‘No, we’re not going to issue marriage licenses to homosexuals,’” Mack said.
Oh, fuck off. Shit like this wouldn't come out of people's mouths if mankind in general actually had the common sense to realize that there are all sorts of people in our world, and we have to try our best to be as inclusive as possible to others. This sort of BS is like American Civil Rights all over again, even if laws regarding equality get passed, people will just choose to ignore them. You do have the right to raise your children as you please. Just not in such a way they become as stupid as you are already.
The way you take back freedom in America is one county at a time.
The irony being that this guy is trying to deny gay couples their own freedoms.
I am honest i am also against homosexual marriage. It is my opinion. You can imagine yourself the bad sides about it.
I am honest i am also against homosexual marriage. It is my opinion. You can imagine yourself the bad sides about it.
Why? How does homosexuals being able to marry affect you at all?
I am honest i am also against homosexual marriage. It is my opinion. You can imagine yourself the bad sides about it.
I can't imagine any bad sides about it, please elaborate.
I am honest i am also against homosexual marriage. It is my opinion. You can imagine yourself the bad sides about it.
What bad sides? That a person has the right to be who they want?
What bad sides? That a person has the right to be who they want?
i assume the "bad sides" must be "gay people are icky" or something silly like that.
I am honest i am also against homosexual marriage. It is my opinion. You can imagine yourself the bad sides about it.
So you are just narrow-minded and old fashioned. A pair of men, or women, aren't allowed to enter a same sex marriage and be perfectly happy for many, many years to come, but it's perfectly fine for a man and a women to get married, divorce, or even enter a marriage and be unhappy generally, or even an abusive marriage. There is literally zero reason why two people of the same sex shouldn't get married. They do no harm to anyone. Either way. It's just wrong to say that two men, or two women shouldn't get married.
Oh man, personal attacks on somebody with a differing opinion and who was properly raised differently than yourself.
When are we going to get to the point of realizing that, when what you want to do is oppressive to others, your opinions don't matter?
Oh man, personal attacks on somebody with a differing opinion and who was properly raised differently than yourself.
It's more the fact that the whole hating gays is literally steming mainly from old Religion, and being taught that suddenly being gay makes you less of a person than yourself. So yes, it may seem a tad personal. But so is hating on gay people because of their sexuality.
I remember someone who claimed that gay rights was a 'special interests' lie in order to propagate complacency amongst the masses. I stopped talking to him after that.
I remember when I used to think like this. And then I turned 13 and gained a conscious
Yeah! we don't want them gays shoving anything in our throats
Surely just having ONE type of marriage is portraying/forcing a single idea upon kids, rather than the option of all combinations of man/woman, man/man, woman/woman?
