Does anyone remember reading those Choose Your Own Adventure books? I do. Back in like third and fourth grade, they were the shit. I remember I would always book mark each page that had adventure paths that way I could go down every possible path. (User was banned for this post ("shit thread" - GunFox))
I remember them, I didn't like that much, but, a lot of people did like them.
A friend and I got really stoned and wrote one of those into a math textbook a while back. Every ending involved being eaten by a grue.

They always had bad endings :saddowns:
I kind of remember them, but they always got so boring.
I loved those books. I cheated and bookmarked pages and got the best possible ending every time.
Animorphs had one. Funnest book i've ever went through.
Goosebumps had the best ones
Yeah i had a bunch of those. I think they were Goosebumps one. They were fucking brutal. "WILL YOU GO LEFT OR RIGHT?" "You went left. You were eaten by a monster. You suck."
Goosebumps had the best ones
Fuck Yeah.
I have a couple Mario and Zelda ones from way back when. They actually expanded the stories of those old games surprisingly well. There were ways of getting "Game overs" but for each path there was more than one possible way to continue without getting one, unlike many other CYOA books where there were only one possible path and the rest were ends.
Yeah, we called those "Livres Dont Vous Êtes Le Héro" (french for "Books In Which You Are The Hero"). I usually ended up cheating though.
I have an Indiana Jones one on my bookshelf, I'm still surprised they could fit so much branching content in one book.
I think WotC are starting up a DnD one. Let me check. Edit: Nope, something entirely different.
I read one once... then I got shot to death by the evil heiress because I had discovered her plot to steal the dying kings fortune. And after words I got really depressed.
