• Are HP computers good?

I want to buy one for average use, maybe also gaming, but nothing crazy like Crysis. The one model I found interesting is this one. http://www.shopping.hp.com/webapp/product/BK174AA%2523ABA If they're anything better than this model or company, please inform me, thanks. My budget is around 2,000$ CAD Don't recommend building a PC please. I would but can't.
They are not that bad but they are not the best. For moderate to casual use they are fine and like you said you can not build it yourself. Have you looked into a site like ibuypower.com or somewhere that will build it for you? Also, why can you not build it yourself.
For your +$1000 you could build on hell of a good PC yourself.
But you could do so much better with $1200 building it yourself :frown:
So you have (sorry for converting) about 1900 USD? I am trying to find a reference point. I would not recommend buying a prebuilt, i would recommend building it yourself but since you can't, get a site like ibuypower to do it for you so you don't get shit bloatware and crappy parts.

Building is fine but it's almost impossible finding good computer parts in Quebec. Everything bought has to be in Quebec. So no American websites or anything. :( I live in Montreal. REALLY tight.
-snip- [editline]03:41PM[/editline] http://www.canadacomputers.com/ possibly? lol i just googled canadian computer website and got that. If there is a way you can build it yourself then that is the best thing you can do. (prebuilts will use shit parts) [editline]03:42PM[/editline] http://www.tigerdirect.ca/ [editline]03:42PM[/editline] http://www.newegg.ca/

Nope, it has to be strictly in Quebec, even if it's in Canada.
I like HP more than Dell, I bet the customer service is better too.
I like HP more than Dell, I bet the customer service is better too.
Dell has notoriously bad customer service. Especially since they outsource all their calls and Apu can be kind of hard to understand sometimes.
HP is good quality wise, and they have excellent support. I have watched them transform into a great company over the years, and their cases are so damn sexy.
Oops, never mind missed informed myself. Not allowed to build. :(
Well all I know from my experiences is that they're a hell of a lot better than Dell.
My HP has 12GB of DDR3 RAM, an AMD Phenom II x6 2.8HGz processor, a 1TB 7200RPM HDD, and an ATI Radeon 5570 HD, and it cost be about $1300. If you have $2000 to spend, you could get a REALLY good computer
I have a dell, and the only problem I encounter is finding drivers. It took me a whole week to find everything and I still can't launch any source games. :crying:
Don't recommend building a PC please. I would but can't.
Why? It's incredibly easy, and cheaper.
Oops, never mind missed informed myself. Not allowed to build. :(
Did your parents say no
Did your parents say no
Nope, Government only allows pre-built. Yes it's stupid.
Nope, Government only allows pre-built. Yes it's stupid.
:raise: So they restrict creativity?
Nope, Government only allows pre-built. Yes it's stupid.
Order all the peices and say it must of fell apart in the box, but its okay you can just put it back together :v:
Nope, Government only allows pre-built. Yes it's stupid.
what country do you live in? Sounds like it sucks
what country do you live in? Sounds like it sucks
North Korea?
Yes NK, no Canada, but in Quebec.
Ehhhh, If you absolutely have to buy a prebuilt, HP is fine. Not familiar with your situation with the "Governmental Budget".
Nope, Government only allows pre-built. Yes it's stupid.
I call bullshit on that... they can't restrict you from building a PC.
Nope, Government only allows pre-built. Yes it's stupid.
I'm guessing it's an excuse to not have to work and build a computer.
Trust I would love to build one, But they don't allow it. Oh well, thanks guys anyway. I have decided.
just make sure you delete all the shitware they put on it. HP is usually good with that but they still do it.
