Lich King vs Kerrigan fight of all years
That's to be expected, but they need to have other characters from the earlier franchises, like Kyle from Blackthorne, all three of the Lost Vikings, maybe someone from Rock 'n' Roll Racing, and so on.
there is LITERALLY so much potential for this game. the only issue I can see with this is the fact that the warcraft universe has so many more characters that you could put in - and I would imagine that they would try and balance the amount of chars from diablo/sc/wow (unfortunately, as that'd severely limit warcraft characters).
if they had any sense at all, they would have every character available form the start and base the f2p model on micro transactions. they will shoot themselves in the foot if they go down the league path
I'm really excited to play this.
Hopefully Blizzard won't fuck up.
Well I guess I have to play mobas now.
Friday can't come fast enough, there are so many reveals I'm excited for over at Blizzcon.
As much as I like Dota 2, there's no way in hell I'm leaving HotS untouched.

I pretty much hate mobas with a passion but that's just me (and I'm not gonna shit up the thread with it)
But why can't you guys all just get along and play all the games? I'm sure there's a few that do and it's probably just a loud minority who bitch and moan about eachother, but I mean I quite happily play nearly all FPS (apart from cod) and I play nearly all RTS and I play nearly all RPG. I don't understand what makes it so taboo to play 2 different mobas. Especially in a genre where, lets face it, the games have only got a few minor mechanical changes between them.
This is gonna be interesting, so much competition in this gaming genre!
I want to see the cinematic trailer of this heroes of the storm.

I think it´s harder to play 2 different mobas.
Once you get deep into one of ´em, you just can´t play the other moba (but i think that´s just me)

Every moba has different heroes/mechanics/items so really if you want to be any good at one of them you need to invest a lot of time into that particular game to learn how all the heroes work and what items you should get and how you should play etc. Thus people become attached to the moba they know, which is why new mobas are a bad idea because your asking people to leave the game they know to learn a totally new one, which is why Blizzard should have done this back before dota 2 came out.

Because each moba is different and has different mechanics and heroes, so I think it's down to most people wanting to focus one one type. It also might be down to personal preference.
I have tried LoL and HoN and Smite, but I still prefer to play Dota 2 since I just like it's systems more than the other games (LoL takes too long to load, HoN takes forever to find a game, Smite is finicky and unstable at times), whereas Dota 2 loads in a nicer amount of time, has generally quick matchmaking and it's also relatively stable.

It's less the taboo between MOBAs and more that there are way too many now. I've played pretty much all of them and almost all of them (except HoN) copies League of Legends and are just not fun. I'll jump from one to the other from time to time, but I tend to gravitate more to Dota 2 for the challenge and fun of it.
Also, the differences between MOBAs are more than a few minor mechanical changes if we're talking between Dota 2 and League of Legends/all of its imitators. Hero design is far different from League of Legends champion design, overall map style is different thanks to the bush being present in League, there are things present in either game that drastically affect it that are not in the other (Courier in Dota 2, recall in League of Legends (which is sort of a substitute for TP scrolls)), and there is more. Each game has its strengths and weaknesses, but to say they're minor is misleading.

D1 was released before LoL.
HoN used to be a more of a modernized version of D1.
Get yer facts straight.

Also i prefer to called the genre ASSFAGGOTS aka: Aeon of Strife Styled Fortress Assault Game Going On Two Sides.

(and every other reply to this effect)
I get that they're different but how is that an issue?
Playing Quake 3 is utterly different from playing Team Fortress 2 or Battlefield 3 and I can swap between the games in minutes quite happily. I'd say there's less difference between LoL and Dota 2 than there is between Quake 3 and BF3.

How much LoL and dota have you played.
I will only give this a try if they give Anub'Arak his voice from WC3. He sounded pathetic in WotLK.
I'm going to main the shit out of that panda
By the way, PCgamesn, what's this game called? Heroes of the Storm or Heroes of the Swarm?

Well, I should have noted that HoN was a copy of Dota, but yeah.

Because those games require you to left click and get kills, the skill comes from being fast at that.
Mobas are a combination of twitch skill with skillshots, build management, counterpicking, positioning, all sorts of shit. When you move from quake to BF3, you have to adjust to the games speed and guns, that's it. From Dota to LoL you have to figure out all the abilities, how they work, their damage and what they're best used for, what items you should get, who should be where in a teamfight, who to target down, what objectives to go for, stuff like that. It's much more complicated than you'd think
