Summary from Slashdot:
"King Abdullah of Jordan (who was once an extra in an episode of Star Trek: Voyager) has given the green light to a $1.5 billion Star Trek theme park that will boldly take Jordan where no Gulf state has gone before. While the theme park will not be powered by dilithium crystals, it will utilize green technology in order to lower its carbon footprint — all of its electricity will be generated by renewable sources."
It better look stellar, especially at night.
I'm sure people will be running at warp speed to get in there...
All power to forward shields.
I'm sure people will be running at warp speed to get in there...
Nah, I'll use the transporter to beam me there.
Haha, knew the King would have something to do with this.
Jordan? Well okay then.
How does a theme park take 1.5 billion dollars to make? I know that it's being energy efficient and all, but damn that price tag.
Next, Star Wars theme park in Antartica.

Yes, becuase people will want to ride roller coasters in sub degree weather.

You need a place to build, then you need to build entire houses, rollercoasters, attractions, and then you need to hire people too.
Better be a giant holodeck
How stable is Jordan as a nation? This has me intrigued.

True to life Hoth experience?
True to life Hoth experience?
Not unless they have AT-ATs and Wampas.
Yes, becuase people will want to ride roller coasters in sub degree weather.
It could be Hoth. Various attractions could include taking down an Imperial AT-AT or crawling into the guts of Tauntaun for warmth.

Well duh, but it wouldn't make much money.

It's the Middle East, and what happens in the Middle East?
Jihad: Fuck you Americans! ALLAH AKBAR! *explodes*
Not really an ideal place to build an amusement park based on an American show.

I knew the king of jordan is a massive trekkie but I didn't know there were many trekkies there

Everyone follows the king.
Well, I guess this will do. I used to have a theme park owned by Paramount near me called Carowinds. It had a Star Trek section based around a lay-down roller coaster called the Borg Assimilator, but then it was bought out by Cedar Fair, so all of the Paramount property disappeared, including the giant crashed Borg sphere.

You are an idiot.

Alright, you live in the United States. You know what happened in the United States? The American Civil War.
You'd best watch yourself now, Johnny Reb.
Time to re-enact my favorite scenes.
Getting shot out of the ship's cannon in a grave, and re-enacting being pirates on a Digital pirate ship.

My friend was born there and goes every year, he pretty much says its a peaceful spot that behaves just like any other country but with camels and sand.

The King when he was a Prince on Voyager.
Also I can see this as being the new Mecca (pardon the pun) for Star Trek fans, it's well documented that the "build it and they will come" analogy is pretty true for Trek fans.
You are an idiot.
Seriously, he's an obvious troll. Just report him and walk away.

Doesn't change the fact that he is an idiot.
Now I have a reason to travel to Jordan.

Make it so.
