Also hosts his own TV show James May's Toy Stories The Stig Species: Unknown Gender: Unknown, though referred to as "he" or "him" in the show Occupation: Test driver and trainer for celebrity guests Summary: Top Gear is a BBC television series about motor vehicles, primarily cars. It began in 1977 as a conventional motoring magazine show. Over time, and especially since a relaunch in 2002, it has developed a quirky, humorous style. The show is currently presented by Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May, and also features a test driver known as The Stig. The programme is estimated to have 350 million viewers worldwide. First run episodes are broadcast in the United Kingdom on BBC Two, and since Series 14, also on BBC HD. Top Gear is also shown on Dave, BBC America, BBC Canada, RTÉ Two in Ireland, Channel 9 and GO! in Australia (also previously on SBS One who showed the program until the end of the 13th series aired in 2009), Prime TV in New Zealand, and a number of other television channels around the world. The popularity of the show has led to the creation of two international versions, with local production teams and presenters for Australia and Russia. Episodes of the Australian version premièred on 29 September 2008 and NBC was holding the American version for broadcast in February or March 2009, as a possible mid-season replacement, but later dropped it from their schedule before production resumed. The show has received acclaim for its visual style and presentation, as well as considerable criticism for its content and comments made by presenters. Columnist A. A. Gill described the show as "a triumph of the craft of programme making, of the minute, obsessive, musical masonry of editing, the french polishing of colourwashing and grading". The newest season of Top Gear has been announced and will premier on June 20th, with a host of new cars, a trip to the top of an active volcano in Iceland, an announcement of Grandpa Jeremy, and a new reasonably priced car. TV Shows: As of 3 January, 2010 there have been 117 episodes spanning 14 seasons. In addition there have been 8 more "Specials" including Top Gear: Bolivia Special. Best show on Australian free TV right now, dunno about other countries.
Fuck yeah, Top Gear rules Too bad channel nine over here in Aus have completely sucked the joy out it for me. Killed the only thing that keeps me going during the week, I either download or watch the episodes online now. Jeremy Clarkson is probably my favourite TV personality. I mean I love all the hosts, but he's my favourite. Being a top gear presenter is my dream job
a trip to the top of an active volcano in Iceland
heh ^^ cant wait for the new series
Love this show so much.
Did they ACTALLY cause the eruption?
Did they ACTALLY cause the eruption?
If you seriously blelieve that... Of course they didn't. People (see: newspapers or Daily Mail) like to "frame" top gear for their well known antics which often involve a fair bit of disruption to something. Also, I tried making the top gear test track in hammer. Didn't go well, failed at first corner.
Jeremy Clarkson can stand Toyotas, well if you count the Hilux as one.
Dave re-runs, where would we be without them :allears:

I bought the Polar Special on iTunes the other day and he went in the Hilux and it was hard for him to say it was a good car. But the bolivia special. Hehehehe, I enjoyed that one.
Seen all episodes Well, if you don't count the ones from 1989-1992
I haven't seen the bolivia special; Could you give me the tl;dr version of it?
Top Gear is the greatest thing on TV EVER.
The stunts on this are hilarious.
I haven't seen the bolivia special; Could you give me the tl;dr version of it?
OH FUCK. Wrong episode I was thinking of Botswana. Rate boxes.
What I can Imagne for the Next Series: "We were suposed to do a special on toyotas but as soon as we finished filming the Camera man put the tape on the editors desk and it accelirated across the office and strait into Mays piano"
"Some say he thought that Star Wars was a documentary..." I fucking love Top Gear, the challenges are brilliant, I've yet to see another show try to put a robin reliant into space.
The vietnam and bolivia specials were amazing.
There's only one special where Hammond didn't destroy his vehicle. If you ever see James May don't forget to crash into the back of his car.
