So I've got iOS 5 running here, if anyone has any questions about it I'll do my best to answer them.
Not to bring other OS's into this but is the new notification centre THAT similar to Android as people say ?
Is it stable enough to use as your primary phone? I'd kill for the notifications upgrade right now.
Been using this since the announcement yesterday, no problems so far.
Pretty similar to Android in terms of dragging it down, but better looking and better control in my opinion. You can customise lots of notification settings, and specify whether to do new style notifications or old ones per app etc.
Just how much has been "borrowed" from other OS's?
As long as they don't claim it's original and revolutionary. I don't see a problem. It's product evolution.
Yeah a lot of the new stuff is pretty shamelessly copied from WebOS and Android but the experience on the iPhone just feels way more polished. The lock screen notifications are awesome as well. As far as stability goes, it's running flawlessly on my 3GS.
Anyone here who could get my iPad's UDID registered? Really want to check iOS 5 out
I have my UDID registered with a mate of mine, but I don't have proper internet at home - I'll have to wait till tomorrow to go to a hotspot and grab it. Stupid tethering!
Hopefully then, a tethered jailbreak will be circulating. It's been JB'd, but just not released yet as far as I can tell (Although uses existing exploits)
I guess you have to pay a fair bit to get a hold of iOS 5, what with the developer program and all? Anyone kind enough to register a UDID?
What are you running it on? I have it on my iPad and it is great. But reminders seems to lag a small bit. Does this happen for anyone else?
Goddamn DHL Shenzhen and my ADC Student account.
I've been running this on my iPhone 4 since yesterday as well, really stable as well. The notifications are a welcome change and wi-fi syncing works pretty well, so so far a pretty good update.

Also, to any of the other devs here, can any of you get on the iOS dev forums? It keeps redirecting me back to the page with the button to login.
Give us lots of screenshots of the new features please

Apple has it all layed out
It'd be cool if someone could register my UDID, I really wanna test it out on my iPod Touch 4.
Is the version everyone's testing the GM? Because if it is, I'd like a UDID register too. I really wanna check it out. No harm done if not.
Heck naw not a GM.

Awh. Okay.
Times like this I wish I was a developer...
As a visually impaired user I own an iPhone purely because the accessibility features are brilliant out of the box. It says on the website here that the accessibility features have changed. Is it possible you could explain what exactly has been changed? Also how the new features/pages are adjusted for use with Text to Speech functionality. Examples I'm most interested in is the reminder app, notification center, and iMessages.
I don't really know what's been changed but here's a quickly stitched together picture of the new preferences screen.

Has the iPod app on the iPhone become just a "Music" app like on the iPod Touch? I saw a screenshot of that but I can't believe Apple would chuck away the iPod branding
How's the camera app on 3GS? Does it have HDR, cropping, grids, or anything like that?

Yeah, there's now separate apps for Movies and Music; along with Photos they have a pretty nice set of apps for each type of content. I think it makes more sense this way as it's how the iPod Touch has always handled it and now that's consistent across every iOS device.
Regarding iPod branding, I don't think the brand means much to Apple anymore, In fact it wouldn't surprise me if they launched the next iPod touch with a 128GB model, a new name (not iPod) and stopped making iPod classics. When people think iPod they think a glorified HDD / SSD with a tiny screen, that's not the iPod Touch at all and it would make sense if it became it's own device. It would make even more sense for it to be the positioned as the 'iPhone Wi-Fi' (like the iPad) since it has iMessage now meaning the only thing really missing is voice calling and how long do you think it'll be before Apple gets into that?
How's the camera app on 3GS? Does it have HDR, cropping, grids, or anything like that?
Due to the kinda crappy camera on the 3GS, there's no HDR, cropping or any other editing. We do however get quick access from the lock screen and the physical shutter control as well as the grid overlay.
Where can i get this
Where can i get this
It's currently available as a developer beta, so to get it you have to sign up for Apple's iOS Developer Program which costs US$99. That's the same program that allows you to sell on the App Store and the beta is really only intended to allow developers to prepare their apps for the eventual release of iOS 5.
On another note, if people want I can do a quick walkthrough of Xcode 4.2's new features including the iOS 5 SDK.

Also iTunes 10.5 is in beta and it's looking a bit sharper than the old version, gone are the silly vertical traffic lights and the overall styling is more reminiscent of Lion with lighter tones overall and a little bit more brushed metal. I thought we'd dropped that with Leopard, but as it's only on the volume nob I'll excuse it of some rogue designer at Apple being too attached to dated aspects of OS X.
