• Lego Galileo to go to Jupiter aboard Juno spacecraft
MORE than 400 years after he discovered the planet's moons, ancient astronomer Galileo will travel to Jupiter along with some even more ancient companions. Oh, and they'll all be made out of Lego. Lego Jupiter — the Roman god — and his Lego wife Juno will accompany the famed philosopher aboard NASA's Juno spacecraft when it launches on Friday bound for the largest planet in the solar system. Galileo was imprisoned by the Roman Inquisition for daring to claim that Earth was not at the centre of the universe. The philosopher's Lego figurine will travel with his trusty telescope, which he used to make several important discoveries about Jupiter — including identifying its four largest moons, which are named in his honour. In Roman mythology, Jupiter — the god of sky, thunder and war — is pictured holding a lightning bolt and disguising himself in a veil of clouds in order to cover up his mischievous ways. Juno, daughter of Saturn and sister of Jupiter — yes, sister — is the patron goddess of Rome and holds a magnifying glass to convey her quest for truth. She was able to reveal Jupiter’s true nature by peering through the clouds from Mount Olympus. The stowaways are part of a joint educational outreach partnership between NASA and the Lego Group designed to inspire children to explore science, technology, astronomy, maths and engineering. Juno is set to launch at 8.30am local time (10.30pm AEST) from the Kennedy Space Centre in Florida. Won't they just be torn to pieces by the atmosphere? I just realized how retarded this sounds. I need to stop posting so earlier in the morning.
The one on the left looks like Lego Dumbledore.
Y'know, after the mission is finished, and the craft is left to drift out into the dark beyond, after countless aeons of drifting the figures could be discovered by others. (or rediscovered if our descendants find them first) That is, if the figures can last for all those long aeons.
I want to buy replicas of them...
One small step for Lego kind. Far into the future, they will return seeking vengeance for damning them to space, except they will not be 3, they will be trillions. They will come with their Lego spaceships and their Lego death walkers and they will continue coming until they have destroyed each of us.
Won't they just be torn to pieces by the atmosphere?
It'll be inside a rocket whilst it's actually going through the atmosphere.
i was convinced the one on the right was karl marx
Won't they just be torn to pieces by the atmosphere?
What
Won't they just be torn to pieces by the atmosphere?
Have you ever tried to take lego people apart?! Shit's IMPOSSIBLE! They could probably go into a black hole unscathed!
Lego, the ultimate in scientific badassery.
I always imagined LEGO to be like in Toy Story. They'll move when we are away, and stop when we come back for them. Imagine 50 years later they steered the ship back to Earth.
The one on the left looks like Lego Dumbledore.
That is the Dumbledore hairpiece on him. Anyway, that's cool and all, but why are the figures not in colour?

I love NASA.

Stepping on Lego bricks only happened if you were I gigantic faggot.
That's fucking awesome.
Won't they just be torn to pieces by the atmosphere?
They're going to be inside the ship. The only way they'd survive outside of the ship is if they were made of those flat pieces. Fuck them.

Hopefully the spacecraft doesn't get pregnant on its way there.
Hopefully the spacecraft doesn't get pregnant on its way there.
what
Magnifico.

As long as Juno isn't pelted by other objects or crashes into another planet or large asteroid.
Won't they just be torn to pieces by the atmosphere?
We need the bad reading rating back, just for you.
Have you ever tried to take lego people apart?! Shit's IMPOSSIBLE!

I won't lie, I thought Juno was holding a frying pan on my first glance.
And then aliens find them, think humans are made of plastic and decide to invade.
what
It's a joke about the movie Juno.
