• Is this build good?

Recently I decided to do a $500-$760 gaming PC build as the new generation of consoles are arriving soon and my current computer is slowly dying. Here's my current specs so far: CPU: AMD FX 6300 GPU: Sapphire Radeon HD 7850 Case: NZXT Source 210 Power Supply: Corsair CX 500 Motherboard: ASUS M5A78L-M RAM: Corsair Vengeance 8GB (2 X 4 GB) Hard Drive: WD Blue 1 TB OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit (OEM) And since I heard that AMD is not good with CPU fans I decided on a Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO. Is this good for gaming/creating things with Source Filmmaker? Thanks.
Looks good. You might want to change the FX 6300 for an Intel i3-4130 It performs slightly better than the FX 6300 but doesnt allow for overclocking.

Is there a good and cheap motherboard for this that is compatible with the Sapphire Radeon HD 7850 CPU and Corsair Vengeance RAM?
The B85-G43 is a good choice.
Literally any Mother Board will work with any RAM and GPU, its the CPU that matters in terms of compatability
I recently upgraded my build to this: CPU: Intel Core i3-3220 GPU: EVGA GeForce GTX650Ti Boost 2GB Case: NZXT Source 210 Power Supply: Corsair CX 500 Motherboard: MSI B75MA-P45 RAM: Corsair Vengeance 8GB (2 X 4 GB) Hard Drive: WD Blue 1 TB OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit (OEM) Is this better?
Get the 4130 along with the B85 version of that motherboard.
Get the 4130 along with the B85 version of that motherboard.
I've been looking around for an B85 version, but I can't find it. Can you give me a good alternative that is on my $500-$850 budget?
The B85-G43 is an excellent cheap motherboard.
The B85-G43 is an excellent cheap motherboard.
Thanks! On Amazon I seen the B85M-G43, but it's good anyways. I noticed that the MSI B85M-P33 is getting some positive reviews as well. Can anyone verify this?
Yes, it's positively reviewed. It's a very cheap motherboard, but if it has enough connectors for you, then the only detrimental thing is poorer audio quality. Granted, you probably won't notice it unless you are an audiophile.
Sorry for the 3 month bump, but recently I made a new build codenamed "GAMERBOX". Is this a good build and could it run SFM or Bioshock Infinite well? http://pcpartpicker.com/user/Bitl/saved/3Ce3
Keep the first build and get this memory and use pcpartpicker pcpartpicker.com/part/pny-memory-md8192kd31333 EDIT: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/2LDY2 What's your budget?
http://pcpartpicker.com/p/2LF89 would probably be optimal. Better GPU, cheaper but just as good motherboard, cheaper RAM, cheaper power supply that is semi-modular, and a better and cheaper hard drive.

Sorry, dunno what I was looking at. It's 32 cents more, but still performs better.
I'm actually trying to go with a build that has Nvidia and Intel for anything under $1500.
That hdd isn't cheaper
It's literally 32 cents more... Damn less than a minute late.
$1500? This would be a great build for just over 1k http://pcpartpicker.com/p/2LHBH Are you interested in overclocking/for sure wanting a micro ATX? Overclocking ATX mid-tower http://pcpartpicker.com/p/2LHP4 Overclocking micro ATX http://pcpartpicker.com/p/2LI8V
It's literally $3 more
Check your vendors man. Got some filtered out? Both from outlet PC, WD Blue 59.56, Seagate 59.98. And even so, The Barracuda is worth $3 more.

There is practically no reason to go with a Xeon over an i5 for gaming only. If he was rendering, I'd be completely on board. But definitely not for gaming.
Why a Xeon? There is practically no reason to go with a Xeon over an i5 for gaming only. If he was rendering, I'd be completely on board. But definitely not for gaming.
Because it's an i7 for the price of an i5? Pretty sure it's not overclockable though
Because it's an i7 for the price of an i5? Pretty sure it's not overclockable though
It is not overclockable. And it does not perform as well in gaming environments as an i5 or i7 does. Don't get me wrong, I'm usually the first to suggest a Xeon and get shot down in the right build, but this isn't it.
$1500? This would be a great build for just over 1k http://pcpartpicker.com/p/2LHBH
Wow, that is really good! I don't really need the SSD though, but it's a really good build. http://pcpartpicker.com/user/Bitl/saved/3CAe I saved it separately from the original. I also saved the assessories here: http://pcpartpicker.com/user/Bitl/saved/3CAo
I think you'd be amazed what an SSD can do. I absolutely love mine, and was rather skeptical before I got it.
Sorry for yet ANOTHER bump, but I recently changed the PC up a little bit and added the following: - Upgraded the entire PC to ATX. - It now has 16 GB of RAM instead of 8. - Added an SSD to the main build. - Changed the power supply to a 600 watt one. - Added a Blu-Ray optical drive. - Added all the accessories. - Changed the case to an ATX one. - Changed the graphics card so it can fit in the case. Anyone know if this upgrade is good or not? http://pcpartpicker.com/user/Bitl/saved/44Xw
Non IPS panel monitors are a waste nowadays. Also Windows 8 is currently cheaper and better in pretty much ever way. You can change the ui to be like windows 7 if you want. No reason not to upgrade anymore. Also the 750 is a pretty outdated card. I would get the 760 or 770 with this kind of budget. Do you live near a Microcenter store? you could get a much better deal for the i5 and a motherboard as well as gpus

It was released a month ago, it's not outdated and is quite a bit newer than a 760 or 770, however I think for this budget he should at least get a 760.
