A Belgian feminist activist group LilithS literally painted Liege Airport red with a hundred liters of fake blood at the facility’s role in arming Israel. The red pool of ‘blood’ symbolized their perceived ‘slaughter’ of Palestinians in Gaza by Israel.
Six women took part in the protest at 11.30 am on Tuesday. The members were all wearing t-shirts bearing the colors of the Palestinian flag as well as the slogans “Terrorism is real” and “Free Palestine.” They also unveiled a banner with the slogan: “How many tons of weapons for so many liters of blood?”the groups Facebook page stated.
Their man gripe was how they believe Liege Airport is being used to transport arms for Israel, which are used against the people of Palestine. LilithS says that the Belgian government and the European Union are turning a blind eye to this, as long as the military material being transported does not change vehicles.
26 Belgian non-profit organizations and other political parties have also spoken out against the lack of transparency shown by the airport.
Amsterdam’s Schipol airport in the Netherlands was used to transport Israeli arms from the United States. LilithS’s Facebook page states that from 2005 to 2006, more than 160 million explosives, 17 million weapons and one million cartridges, tear gas canisters and detonators were sent to Israel, via the Dutch capital. These weapons were used in Israel’s campaign against Lebanon in 2006 and led to the loss of over a thousand people, the group added.
The US started to transport weapons to Israel via Liege after Amsterdam introduced tougher regulations to its Schipol air hub. LilithS says the Belgian airport has no such transparency policy.
However, Chirstian Delcourt, a spokesman for the airport says “there are no weapons that pass through this airport. This is an unfounded rumor, which you hear every time there is an escalation in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict,” the Belgian website dhnet.com reports.
He also stated that Liege Airport intends to file charges against the feminist activist group.

Way to be a dick, and that poor cleaner has to clean up all that mess.
Why mention feminism whats that got to do with anything

That would take about 2 minutes to clean up with a floor scrubber, that's hardly a reason to dismiss the protest. People standing there with signs would disrupt the airport tenfold.
Why mention feminism whats that got to do with anything
Because a feminist group did it?

What's going to get more media coverage (and wider public recognition) though; run-of-the-mill picketing or sloshing fake blood all over the show?
Because a feminist group did it?
They're protesting sending guns to Israel. That has absolutely nothing to do with feminism or anything related to gender.

Its' true. If they did the former, we wouldn't be posting about this right now.
That's pretty metal

Why mention feminism? Because it was committed by a group that identifies as feminist.
If the individual group is not well known, you can identify them as part of a greater movement or group that that group identifies with.

dude have you ever played viscera cleanup detail that shits gonna take like 2 hours
also this is kinda dumb imo, seems kinda pointless just to pour fake blood everywhere

Extra context
If a group exists and they do something unrelated to their group's primary objective or profession, you still identify them as part of that group because it can give a whole lot more information to the reader if they have heard of that group previously and can increase the reader's understanding of the situation and the who/what of it.
When Hell's Angels form rings around funerals to stop WBC from being dicks, you don't see headlines that read 'Hairy Leather-Clad Men Block WBC'.

I just used that in the title because it was in the source.

So we should now replace every detail that is unimportant in stories?
"Old person is on Life Support" (It doesn't matter that it is a celebrity, what matters is that its an old person)
"Marriage partner abuses the other marriage partner" (Gender is unimportant because both can abuse the other one)
"Person becomes oldest ever human at 127" (nationality and gender isnt important)
Why do you even care if they say it is a feminist group, it isn't showing them in a negative light. They do a good thing and I support that.
Well it's better than when the ANC dumped a bucket of poop at the Cape Town airport so I say I don't mind
yes at liege there's one guy who gets paid in old francs and lucky strikes who's job it is to mop by hand the entire airport in between growing an illicit vegetable garden off the runway, where he has fashioned a tenement with bricks from the airport's foundation which he helped lay in 1919
Did this cause any sort of panic? If I saw massive amounts of red fluid on the floor of an airport, I would instantly think "No Russian" and get myself the fuck out of there.
"Old person is on Life Support" (It doesn't matter that it is a celebrity, what matters is that its an old person)
Facepunch already does this frequently.

The point is to get a message out and raise awareness. Do you honestly think that those women thought that pouring some fake blood at an airport would make the pilots raise their arms and go 'nope. after seeing that fake blood I now refuse to do my job and transport these weapons!'
jesus christ. why do I see stupid posts like these and

But when I go to an airport and pour paint everywhere, I get arrested for vandalism.
Equality!

And it changed nothing. GG.
Why mention feminism whats that got to do with anything
Because they're a formal group of people working together , that group being a feminist one...???
How else would you describe their affiliation with each other?
And it changed nothing. GG.
I dunno, it changed SOMETHING. You heard about it, right?

Petty vandalism. I feel bad for whoever has to clean that up-- and hope that whoever decided to empty that stuff gets arrested.
We all know if someone like PETA decided to do that, the entire Facepunch community would be up in arms about how using vandalism to promote your beliefs is a terrible idea. But, all aboard the Palestine circlejerk, I suppose.
You guys know that the person who's cleaning that up is getting paid to clean that up right? Better than all the puke they probably have to mop up on a daily basis.
