• CPU Core Clock Speeds

Just so I can go mock the non-believers with my supreme knowledge of things I randomly read on the internet I need someone to confirm this: A quad core 3.2 GHz processor is 4x 800 MHz. Amirite?
NONONONONO! A 3.2GHz Quad-Core processor is 4 cores running at 3.2GHz. Imagine a highway, each core is a lane on the highway. The speed limit is 3.2GHz. The highway can move 4x as much data as a single-lane highway but both highways have the same speed limit.
Ok, I blame the internet for my moment of weakness, due to the fact I read the 4 x 800 MHz thing on a facepunch post anyway :P.
LOL. Sorry Lappy. Even sorrier for myself if you're trolling. The car-and-highway is a good example.
And a 3.2Ghz Quad core does not mean 12.8Ghz total clock speed.
All cores runs symmetrically at the rated clock speed of the CPU.
