CCTV footage shows the 20-year-old leaning over the helpless victim as he lies in agony on the floor, punching him in the face. Her accomplices can also be seen lashing Ismail Bensalaman, 33, in the face with his belt, destroying his eye. Evans, from Bromford, was jailed for four years and six months after pleading guilty to causing GBH with intent. Gargham, from Rubery, was sentenced to four years and five months after being found guilty of the same charge. Sheldon, who works in a beauty salon, was spared jail after the court heard that hours before the attack, her estranged mother had committed suicide after a row with her. 'How would she feel if this happened to her, or to somebody she cared about? 'I thought I was going to die. It was absolutely terrifying. These people showed no mercy. 'They were so aggressive. I am totally depressed. I can’t work and I can’t drive.’ The 33-year-old continued, 'She was the one who was causing all of the trouble in the first place and she has not even gone to jail. 'I do not understand this British justice system at all.
Source
So, this chick leaves a guy with permanent injuries, and gets away because her mother committed suicide, after a row with her? I mean, it's fucking implied this woman contributed to her mother fucking killing herself, and it serves as an extenuating circumstance? Fucking hell, I am normally against vengeful justice, but how do the other convicts feel, when they got four and half years of jailtime, both, and this cunt who, according to the victim, instigated it all, just walks away scott free! I would be absolutely fuming!

So because your mother commits suicide, you can attack and blind a man... What a gigantic cunt. [editline]24th January 2015[/editline]
Murica
This is England mother fucker.
But England is a colony of America!
Murica
I guess they don't teach basic English in schools in the Netherlands otherwise you would have seen in the first sentence that this took place in England. Good job, English Court System. Of course your mother killing herself is a perfectly acceptable reason to blind a complete stranger and sit on his chest and continually punch him in the face.
Murica
Where's bad reading when you need it.
But England is a colony of America!
Please no
Murica
Looks like someone flunked geography in school. Either way, the courts decision is ridiculous, the attack was unprovoked and she walks free.
Sue her fucking ass. So that means if i can go shoot up a school because my dog died, i could walk free. Fucking bullshit.
Sue her fucking ass. So that means if i can go shoot up a school because my dog died, i could walk free. I guess she got off because the judge thought "provocation!" I can't read the article because daily mail mobile is trash for me but there's a thing in English and Canadian courts where you can plead provocation. Basically people can get away with assault if the attack was found to be provoked. ie someone intentionally kills my cat and in anger I smack the guy in the face resulting in him filing for an assault charge. I can plead provocation and get off with a small fine or nothing. I absolutely don't understand how this was provocation if that was the case.
In the United States you cant be tried for the same crime twice, but what about England?
In the United States you cant be tried for the same crime twice, but what about England?
From Wikipedia
Double jeopardy has been permitted in England and Wales in certain (exceptional) circumstances since the Criminal Justice Act 2003.
After all I'd sooner expect a senseless court ruling in Alabama than the UK.

If I was the victim and heard she got free, well, it would be like a Park Chan-Wook film.
