Isn't this kinda stupid? Why would you release a Season Pass on a platform and then not release one of the dlcs for it?
Pretty fucking scummy. They wait to tell us this after they confirm a netcode update and the contents of Kombat Pack 2.
and this is why I hate season pass
As antiquated as it is, WHY do I have a feeling that "Piracy" is going to be the motive? I mean seriously, they gave up trying to fix Arkham Knight PC(by "they", I mean the publisher, which happens to be the same for MKX ) and still put DLC out for it.
i think the reason lies within the fact that it only peaks at around 1000 players and that isn't worth spending the money to port the dlc over
Then they shouldn't make a season pass.
i think the reason lies within the fact that it only peaks at around 1000 players and that isn't worth spending the money to port the dlc over
This, and with the port's really bad reputation, it's not like people are going to be lining up to buy it once KP2 hits. I don't think even implementing the new rollback-based netcode would be enough to save MKX on PC. First impressions matter, and WB fucked them up when they chose High Voltage to handle the port originally. The port is much better now, but it doesn't really matter because everybody still thinks it's as shitty as it was on release.
Then they shouldn't make a season pass.
You think WB even cares, let alone even thinks ahead regarding their own content?
and this is why I hate season pass
This wasn't included in the season pass
It's not just the DLC pack. They're doing some sort of beta soon for improved netcode, but it's only happening on the consoles. I'm guessing that means whatever comes of that won't be coming to PC, too. I think they've really just given up on the PC build. But when you consider how many people bought the PC version that's more than a little fucked up tbh. I asked this in another thread, too: is a developer just straight up giving up on one of their launch platforms something that happens often? I can't really remember any other cases like this.
nowhere in kombat pack 1 does it say you are entitled to all future dlc, you only get what it lists
Fair enough. Still pretty scummy though.

Ceasing support on PC versions because the publisher's too stupid to avoid pushing out bad ports, "It's their fault for not buying our game!"
Is giving up on an entire platform like this okay? Surely this is against some sort of consumer rights?
And 1 more reason to not buy the PC version then
1 more reason to not buy anything from WB
I know that the Wii U isn't nearly as healthy of a platform as PC (and is in fact essentially dead in the water), but WB did the same thing with Arkham City on there. They sold a season pass and then simply couldn't be bothered to port half of the content that people paid for. I think Nintendo ended up reimbursing people personally. While people give EA a lot of crap for being scummy and misguided, I will never trust WB with my money.

Same day launch for both PC and Xbox 360, on PC it's still being updated today, on 360 it got a grand total of four patches dealing with minor bugfixes before support dropped completely.

The season pass was just a bunch of skins/maps and only one major story DLC.
Man I knew WB was a shitty publisher, but this is bad even for them.

Judging by its current state I'm not so sure they actually tried anyway. WB Games just keeps taking really fucking poor decisions when it comes to porting their games. Arkham Knight may have been a huge failure and MKX may not be far behind but they weren't the first massive failures from WB. Mortal Kombat 9 and Injustice outright do not have online multiplayer on PC no matter what the store page says, the netcode is just nonfunctional and you can't find any game at all, including using private lobbies and steamwork to directly get in a game with a friend. Then there's shit like them trying to port Shadow of Mordor to the 360 and PS3, downscaling all the textures down to early PS2 era resolution and absolutely fucking the game's shit up graphically speaking, along with no DLC support whatsoever. Essentially, don't trust WB Games with your money if you're playing on anything but the current gen consoles. This isn't even an issue with season passes or DLC practices or business models or anything of the sort, Warner Bros Games are just fucking terrible at managing those things.
Man I knew WB was a shitty publisher, but this is bad even for them.
Well to be fair, this is the same publisher that outsourced the PC port of Arkham Knight to a small team at Iron Galaxy studios, did actually take the game off of Steam for several months to fix it when the reputation got real bad, and then put the game back up in a state that's arguably even worse than before depending on the consumer. And gave the port straight back to the team that fucked it up in the first place.

I was really looking forward to this update, fuck WB.
oh my god that alien looks like fucking shit
oh my god that alien looks like fucking shit
To be fair it's not supposed to be the original xenomorph. It's a Baraka-born xeno. It could have been a little better I think, but I still like it, and I certainly appreciate them taking their own creative initiative as opposed to just making a standard Alien.

Regarding Kombat Pack 2, i'm gonna guess it has to do with licensing issues? It is possible that whatever agreement is surrounding it, NRS only signed onto having the Xenomorph and Leatherface be on the Xbox One and PS4 versions of Mortal Kombat X? Either way, the devs really need to explain themselves.
Then there would be no excuse for us to not get the netcode patch. However, in the case of Kombat Pack 2, it wouldn't be a surprise that licensing bureaucracy is what's stopping MKXL from getting a PC version. If that is the case, perhaps I can still ask for MGR Raiden to replace Leatherface?
