What did they expect? Sub-par spec wise console with hardly any games. Smash bros should give them a boost but besides that there's not much to look for.
Well maybe... just maybe, they shouldn't have DELAYED their freaking whole Game Lineup by over a year... Mario Kart 8 should have been around last Summer... and Smash last Christmas, not the coming one. The console is now 1 and a half years on the market and we haven't seen one major installment except for the bi-yearly New Super Mario Bros Level Update, Mario 3D World (which was pretty enjoyable) and Pikmin 3. The really good games on Wii, Brawl, Mario Galaxy, Mario Kart and so on, were all released 1,5 years after the console launched, even though it wouldn't have mattered because the Wii already sold out like crazy at this point. Nintendo has like 6 or 7 Development Studios + 2 or 3 Second Party developers... What the fuck were they doing all the time?

To quote Shigeru Miyamoto, "A delayed game is eventually good, but a rushed game is forever bad."
All I hear about WiiU is "yeah it's still losing a ton of money but as soon as [game] comes out everything will change"
All I hear about WiiU is "yeah it's still losing a ton of money but as soon as [game] comes out everything will change"
Well it's partly true. It doesn't take a single game to make a console sell good. It needs many games to pull it into the win-zone. The Wii U is going to sell better when Mario Kart 8, Smash 4, the new Zelda and the other games are all released. Not when one of them is out, but when they are all released.
Things would be better for nintendo if they wouldn't have released the console a year early and would have at least picked a half decent name for the console instead of making the casual consumer think wii u is an addition to wii.
I simply don't have a good reason to play my wii u right now other than to use it's backwards compatibility for the great Wii catalog. I was so excited for pikman 3 but I can see why people don't want to buy a console for less than a handful of games right now.
