According to The Associated Press, the armed man allegedly took hostages captive at a CIC bank to protest social housing. Four people were held hostage over a period of several hours Friday evening. After the man entered the bank shortly before 5 p.m. local time, French police and SWAT teams surrounded the financial institution, located in Paris' 13th arrondissement. A police negotiator was also reportedly on the scene. Two of the hostages were released around 5:50 p.m. and the third was freed about an hour later, Le Parisien reports. By 7:15 p.m., the gunman had released the final hostage and surrendered to authorities. There were no casualties. According to local reports, the man demanded housing for himself and his son.
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/10/18/hostages-paris-bank-gunman-arrested_n_4123813.html
It's not SWAT it's the GIPN.
Is there a difference in how they act?
Is there a difference in how they act?
Each force has their own tactics, in one way or another
Each force has their own tactics, in one way or another
I mean purpose wise, there are always tactical differences.
I mean purpose wise, there are always tactical differences.
SWAT teams is just guys from the regular police force from each city. GIPN is actual special forces and there is only 200 of them.
