Hillary Clinton received a big bump following the Democratic National Convention, flipping the bump that Republican nominee Donald Trump earned following his convention, a poll released Sunday showed. The Morning Consult poll found Clinton with a 43% to 40% advantage over Trump, a 7-point flip from the outlet's prior poll, which showed Trump with a 44% to 40% advantage following the completion of the Republican National Convention.
interesting part:
Clinton made big gains with both independent voters and with men, the poll showed. The Democratic nominee now leads Trump by 1 point among men, whereas Trump held an 8-point lead with men in last week's poll. The former secretary of state also picked up 4 points among independent voters.
The DNC also provided Clinton with a boost in her favorability, which made a 6-point jump from 37% to 43%. Trump's favorability fell from 42% to 39%.
other polls showing a clinton lead too, it seems DNC averted disaster and somehow came out better. IMO, the reason is thing:

even a lot of veteran conservatives liked DNC more than RNC in a strange miracle
it seems even if the first day was bad, DNC won out by projecting a message of hope & optimism while RNC was too heavy on being hillary hatecon 2016 and prophesying the death of america. should've honestly followed donald trump jr's, that dude was hot on the mic instead of the 999th "hillary bad, america bad, we make it good"

So much for the DNC being more of a shitshow than the RNC, and for it helping Trump rather than Clinton. :V

Every speech but hillary's were amazing I don't really know where people got that idea in the first place.
Mostly what I heard out of the RNC was just hatred, fear and regressiveness (though I heard trump Jr's speech was good). The DNC was a mess but at least they had a plan to make a better future
Every speech but hillary's were amazing I don't really know where people got that idea in the first place.
I thought a lot of the speeches were mediocre. And every other speech was about "electing the first woman president" instead of electing the person most suited for the job.

You and me must have watched two very different conventions then.
Obama's speech was certainly the best by far. Very well done, eloquently put, dismissed the Republicans and supported Clinton well. It shows by far that Obama is perhaps the most talented American orator in the last 20 years, and definitely tied the whole event together IMO.

The fact this this election is pretty much focused on who has more of a shitshow than the other is bad enough.
Thank God. I've been biting my nails all week waiting to see if the email leak and other stuff would put a dent in Clinton's post-convention bump.
Hopefully this means she's still got a shot in the general.
Love trumps hate

because the #neverhillary camp exists within a reality distortion field
Honestly, with the amount of shit being found on Hillary's emails, I really, really hope she loses.
Thankfully, Trump's campaign is releasing just about everything that is somewhat incriminating onto the internet via their website under the titles of "Hillary's with us - If you are..." and shows tons of links to emails detailing how the Clinton Foundation is actively taking donations for favors done in other countries across the world.

I watched a documentary on that last part yesterday (and checked the sourced on that because the stuff that was alleged was so nasty. It checks out as far as I can tell).
I'm pretty certain that trump would be a lot worse for the US than clinton, but I'm not so sure about the rest of the world.
They're both absolutely horrible as far as I can tell though, so I guess no matter who is elected, someone is going to suffer as direct and very intentional consequence of their actions
I, too, can't wait to read about what type of pizza DNC staffers ordered. Courtesy of Putin funded hackers, of course.

Trump would be even worse for the world.
He wants to abolish NATO, completely destabilizing Europe. And even he doesn't, he openly said he couldn't support Eastern European NATO allies in case of Russian agression, which would spell end of NATO anyway.
He also wants to end nuclear deal with Iran and return economic embargo on the country, which would make Iran to not diplomatically deal with US for very long time and would restart it's nuclear weapons research. And he wants to abandon Saudi Arabia allies, while still continuing to wage war in Middle East against terrorists in unspecified countries. So even more destabilizing for Middle East.
As well he wants to hugely escalate trade with with China, which will create even more tensions in Pacific.
Oh and cherry on top, he wants to for US to default on it's debt. Which cause a massive global recession, if not second Great Depression.
It is very clear Trump would be an absolute disaster for the entire world.
The DNC rhetoric (note that I'm not talking about policy) was very reminiscent of what the RNC normally sounds like.

As I wrote, they're both on that level as far as I can tell. Clinton just isn't as blatant about it.

Yeah and the reason why Trump doesn't have any dirt of this caliber on him is because he's never been in government before. What is the assurance that Trump isn't going to do much, much worse than what Hillary's done?
Better the devil you know. At least one has an idea on how the government functions.
The only good speech at the RNC was Trump Jr., the rest was crap. Luckily I only watched their convention for one day otherwise my IQ would have decreased tremendously.
I'm impressed they managed to get one. Go figure they swept the massive exposed corruption under the rug, it's absolutely infuriating that people would still support her, just on principle. Now all we can do is wait until September for the first debate. That shit will be bigger than the Super Bowl.
Every speech but hillary's were amazing I don't really know where people got that idea in the first place.
Watching a few hours with my parents, republicans, they mostly just yelled racist/insulting bullshit over the speeches and didn't listen to a single word anyone said.
Every speech but hillary's were amazing I don't really know where people got that idea in the first place.
People were still really upset about the leaked emails and shitting on anything and everything at the convention as a result. The speeches were pretty good, Clinton's was pretty average, but she was never much of an orator so I don't think anyone expected more.
The thing about any convention, and the news in general, is that positive stories don't sell anywhere nearly as well as negative stories. A good convention is less a convention packed with powerful, inspiring speeches and speakers, but more about not having any of the speakers particularly bomb. There was nothing that went particularly bad at the DNC, you had some problems between the convention and Sanders delegation, but it didn't amount to much. On the other hand, at the RNC, you had the Melania Trump plagiarism issue, Ted Cruz backstabbing Trump, among other more minor problems, like the Ben Carson Lucifer accusations, or Trump himself calling into Fox News during the middle of a speech at the convention, and getting Fox News of all places to stop covering the convention for a time.
As I wrote, they're both on that level as far as I can tell. Clinton just isn't as blatant about it.
despite her known corruption and glaring flaws, clinton would not and could not cause as much as horrible damage and destruction to the entire world as trump is promising to do
There's basically no precedent for a candidate who was losing before the conventions, and is still losing after the conventions, to then go on to win the election. At this point, Trump has led the RCP average twice: once immediately after winning the GOP primaries, and once immediately after the RNC. At all other times, Clinton has been ahead of Trump, and Trump has never pulled ahead in the HuffPost Pollster average. The chances for him to turn this election around are rapidly fading.

Huffington Post Pollister is more complete, RCP has been accused for deliberately not putting polls in the averages.
more polls came in

DNC just wrecked Trump lol
Thank you God. I believe everybody in the world Dodged that bullet
Trump should never have attacked the Khan family, this will hunt him for the rest of his campaign.
