Pictures from last night show that our drinking culture continues to get out of hand whenever there is an opportunity to let our hair down. From Swansea to Newcastle, Birmingham to Liverpool, partygoers can be seen looking drunk and dishevelled as they spilled out of bars, clubs and parties and onto the streets Pictures of the Carnage that unfolded below:

[img_thumb]http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2013/01/01/article-0-16B54DE0000005DC-306_634x804.jpg[/img_thumb][img_thumb]http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2013/01/01/article-0-16B54EBF000005DC-483_634x767.jpg[/img_thumb][img_thumb]http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2013/01/01/article-2255587-16B5B9D3000005DC-669_634x746.jpg[/img_thumb]

"Scandalous" announced one Daily Mail reader.

[img_thumb]http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2013/01/01/article-0-16B54EB4000005DC-209_634x442.jpg[/img_thumb][img_thumb]http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2013/01/01/article-0-16B54948000005DC-241_634x394.jpg[/img_thumb]

"Children should be seen and not heard" echo'd another Daily Mail reader.

[img_thumb]http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2013/01/01/article-0-16B54871000005DC-693_634x775.jpg[/img_thumb][img_thumb]http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2013/01/01/article-0-16B594FB000005DC-367_634x894.jpg[/img_thumb][img_thumb]http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2013/01/01/article-0-16B504D9000005DC-926_634x851.jpg[/img_thumb][img_thumb]http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2013/01/01/article-2255587-16B5BA8E000005DC-229_634x941.jpg[/img_thumb]

'There were a few fights around, but they were broken up by the police and people were pretty happy.' To help free-up availability of ambulances and capacity at A&E departments, a Temporary Minor Injury Unit (TMIU) was set up in Birmingham for the 6th year running. It provided immediate treatment for people who had suffered alcohol intoxication and other minor illnesses and injuries. Staffed by paramedics, technicians, nurses and doctors, St John Ambulance volunteers, British Red Cross volunteers and Community First Responders, the TMIU treated more than 80 people during the new year celebrations dramatically reducing A&E admissions. Chief Executive Anthony Marsh said: 'It comes as no surprise to us that New Years' Eve has been the busiest nights of the year for the Ambulance Service. 'It is a year in the planning for which as many staff as possible work through the night to ensure patient's get help when they need it the most. 'The way in which the Service deals with this traditionally busy night is a tribute to all the staff and volunteers who work through the night, often without the chance of a break. 'I am very proud of my staff and volunteers who gave up their night to ensure the safety of everyone in the West Midlands, regardless of whether or not they spent the night celebrating the coming of the New Year.' I guess that's the Daily Mail for you! Nanny State ahoy!

Have to admit our drinking culture is pretty ridiculous though, ugly slags wearing tight dresses and cocaine snorting gym monkeys looking for a fight. Its not pretty. [editline]1st January 2013[/editline] "Children should be seen and not heard" is hilarious though. Party like its 1910.
I bet most of the 999 calls were people wanting free rides home from the Ambulance, without realising that doesn't happen anymore
Disdainful as some of the shit which goes down is, it's hardly degrading the oral fibre of our country.

Buddy come to Australia Also who cares if people have fun, is the daily mail run by a retirement village?

Once again the Daily Mail does it's standard procedure of painting Britain in a negative light by focusing on the less than 0.1% of people who got involved in a fight or causing trouble. Don't fuck what you can't lift. Go for a less weighty girl and leave the larger girls for someone else.
The other 2 guys fail to notice it
It's not that they fail to notice it. It's probably become normal for these nightlife people.

It's like sex was this big taboo. In the 70s & 80s people pushed the boundaries and dared to do dirty dancing etc. Then people started to realise that the rules, stigma and taboo established in previous society were a load of bullshit - there was really no repercussion to being more sexual in public - if people were 'offended' who cared? No one was going to die as a result of it. The only repercussion is the religiously influenced superstition 'you'll go to hell' and frankly who gives a fuck? We do have laws currently that permit this kind of 'lewd activity' in public - but I don't see why or how on earth they came about in the first place? Who decided that this natural biological act, observed everywhere in nature and critical to our existence was a 'bad thing' that needed to be hidden away in the first place?

Either that or he has a huge dick. I never get the daily mail, they always bitch about people not being sensible and reliable, but they have no problem with being racist bigots themselves.
A++ Daily Mail reporting, would not have happened if immigration was banned, would be offended again!! I can't wait for the day when papers like this just don't exist anymore and they're stuck being fringe blogs.

Disgusting
Yeah, I guess you're right! Guess I should go take a shit in the street while I'm at it, right?
No that's unhygienic and could harm people.
Yeah, I guess you're right! Guess I should go take a shit in the street while I'm at it, right?
Go ahead man, but make sure it's on the bonnet of a Police car and have a mate to take a photo of you while doing it
TBH that's a typical Friday/Saturday in Britain
No that's unhygienic and could harm people.
Oh, you're right. Jizz and used condoms all over the street is much safer.

Chances are those people fucking in the street are the type of people who read it ironically.
Oh, you're right. Jizz and used condoms all over the street is much safer.
To be fair, aren't they?
To be fair, aren't they?
Sure, but do you really want to be walking through that every day?
