• Trump says US-Mexico wall may not need to cover entire border
President Donald Trump says his proposed border wall may not need to cover the whole US frontier with Mexico because of existing natural barriers. He told journalists travelling on Air Force One to France that it also needed to be transparent, to offer border guards visibility into Mexico. He also reiterated his desire the final design would involve solar panels. Building the wall, and having it paid for by Mexico, was one of Mr Trump's key campaign promises. Now, almost six months into his presidency, it seems he is acknowledging some of the geographical and practical difficulties of such a construction. On the flight to Paris from Washington, Mr Trump told reporters that a wall along the whole 2,000-mile (3,200km) US-Mexico border might not be necessary. "You have mountains. You have some rivers that are violent and vicious," he said. "You have some areas that are so far away that you don't really have people crossing." Instead, all that was required was "anywhere from 700 to 900 miles of see-through wall".
SOURCE
The wall just got thousand miles shorter.
"You have some areas that are so far away that you don't really have people crossing."
:what:
Transparent...with solar panels? What?
Transparent...with solar panels? What?

And I'll give you an example. As horrible as it sounds, when they throw the large sacks of drugs over, and if you have people on the other side of the wall, you don't see them -- they hit you on the head with 60 pounds of stuff? It's over. As cray as that sounds, you need transparency through that wall. But we have some incredible designs.
I shit you not. This is a direct quote.
Okay, hold up a second. He's now saying the wall doesn't have to cross the entire border because of natural obstacles, and needs to be made with steel that has gaps in it so that it can be seen through... He's describing the majority of the current, existing border wall, and it's not exactly an insurmountable barrier. [t]http://www.zerohedge.com/sites/default/files/images/user5/imageroot/2017/03/03/ht_wall3_dc_170303_4x3_992.jpg[/t] Why would we want to be dumping billions of dollars into recreating the wall that we already have, especially when you consider the fact that it doesn't pose a significant obstacle to traffickers, smugglers, and illegal immigrants? The hell's your plan here, Trump? I'm beginning to suspect that all he intends to do here is slap some paint and solar panels on what's already there and call it promise kept, haha. How humiliating for the people who put their trust in this goon.
Hopefully this will (rightly) piss off his voters
He told journalists travelling on Air Force One to France that it also needed to be transparent, to offer border guards visibility into Mexico.
no this is a misquote, just trying not to be purveyors of fake news here but he wants it transparent for those crossing over it so they don't accidentally get crushed by the massive bales of pot being tossed over it. just trying to be factual here for their benefit.
Hopefully this will (rightly) piss off his voters
They'll probably just think of him as a genius and a man who knows how to build ztuff
no this is a misquote, just trying not to be purveyors of fake news here but he wants it transparent for those crossing over it so they don't accidentally get crushed by the massive bales of pot being tossed over it. just trying to be factual here for their benefit.
But Sableye, Trump's great big glorious wall is going to somehow magically prevent drugs and guns from crossing over it, so surely transporting bales of pot over it will be physically impossible anyway. Trump promised countless times that the days of illegal immigrants, human traffickers, and drug and gun smugglers crossing our border would be over forever once his great and amazing and beautiful wall was built. Are you saying differently? Fake News. Sad!
They'll probably just think of him as a genius and a man who knows how to build ztuff
Or just claim that the wall was more metaphorical all along. I was seeing that already during the election despite the man himself saying it was to be a literal wall.
Maybe this is the big beautiful door he talk about on the campaign trail.
What if he's actually just counting on people not even knowing that there is a current and existing border wall, so he just has a small portion of it repainted, puts a bunch of solar panels on top of it and makes a few border patrol dudes pose in front of it while they take a few photos and then he just says that the wall has been built, completely new, it's already manned, it's being patrolled 24/7 and the photos are the irrefutable proof and everybody who dares question his facts is a dirty liar. I mean, shit, I can actually see that happening.

I wonder what all that wall money is going to be spent on. It can't cost over a billion to re-paint a fence.

Also LMFAO I can't believe he's actually trying to get away with "it's not a fence it's a see-through wall!"
And then when some not fox News reports on ut being a sham with video evidence he'll brush them off as fake news
You also forgot to mention him saying it being nothing more than a witch hunt.
I wonder what all that wall money is going to be spent on. It can't cost over a billion to re-paint a fence.
Quietly siphon that excess money off to some hidden offshore bank account I guess?
I wonder what all that wall money is going to be spent on. It can't cost over a billion to re-paint a fence.
There's a term used in various trade industries that might explain it. "Milkin' it".

Which, given all the racists that openly support him, seems to have worked wonderfully!

Which, given all the racists that openly support him, seems to have worked wonderfully!
Not only this, but aside from all the obvious problems I (and lots of others) have with this unbelievably worthless and honestly quite racist wall there is something I have never seen anyone address what seems like kind of a big freakin deal. Do people really think the cartels and such are really going to let this hugely expensive and long term theoretical construction project just happen unmolested right on the border? Any projected cost would skyrocket due to lost materials from people stealing and tampering just to delay it on purpose, from damage during construction, and from the constant security patrols needed to be hired. If someone gets shot, congrats, you now have a cost in human lives as well for a whole wall of nothing. As well as a possible incident between countries.

If this came from Left criticism, there'd be feet to the fires and doxes thrown all around, but when the exact same thing comes from nothing less than the actual source, the president's decision himself, it turns into a "Yeah man obviously. Good idea. Intelligent pres."

[t]http://bca-bd.com/other/images/1403068687108213.jpg[/t] i mean we can install millions of them in new york especially around his tower
if trump is gonna do some wallbuilding the least he can do is make a proper big beautiful wall with all of the trimmings instead of a few hundred kilometres of upright iron poles i want to see something so grand that pilgrims a thousand years are going to have to pass by the ruins of it when they go to St Louis to visit the pope or whatever
Honestly, I think we should just standardize the border wall across the entire border, and then put up National Guard/Army forward operating bases all along the border that'll go on patrols aiding US Border Patrol
Honestly, I think we should just standardize the border wall across the entire border, and then put up National Guard/Army forward operating bases all along the border that'll go on patrols aiding US Border Patrol
turn the northern states of mexico into buffer states. pay their rulers monies to help patrol the area and crack down on druglords, illegal immigration, etc like the romans used to do
