• Brexit: Vote Leave chief who created £350m NHS claim on bus admits leaving EU could be 'an error'
One of the masterminds behind the Brexit vote has performed an astonishing U-turn by admitting that leaving the EU may be “an error”. Dominic Cummings, the Vote Leave campaign director, described the referendum as a “dumb idea” before other ideas had been tried to win back powers from Brussels. He has also warned that Brexit is shaping up to be a “guaranteed debacle”, without big changes in Whitehall to deliver a successful negotiation. ... Mr Cummings is little known to the public, but is widely seen as hugely influential behind the scenes in pulling off last year’s shock referendum Leave vote. A former special adviser to Michael Gove, he coined the phrase “vote leave, take control”, which excited wavering voters into believing Britain could reclaim sovereignty. And, notoriously, he came with the campaign for an extra £350m to be spent on the NHS every week from diverted EU spending – which also proved crucial, MPs said. Leading Brexiteers including Boris Johnson were photographed alongside the bus – but the pledge was immediately dumped when Theresa May took over in Downing Street. He will not save his career this way.
At least I can take some solace in knowing that they're getting shafted by this too and starting to wake up to that fact. Doesn't do me much good, still.
Gee maybe you should've grown a spine and not spouted big fat lies to boost the credibility of these chumps?
...Did literally no-one think "Brexit" through? At all?
...Did literally no-one think "Brexit" through? At all?
I think it was just some guys kneejerk reaction to hearing the acronym "EU".
...Did literally no-one think "Brexit" through? At all?
Long sightedness is too much to ask from conservative politicians all over the world
...Did literally no-one think "Brexit" through? At all?
The short answer is "no". The long answer is just a wail of dispair that echos throughout the Commonwealth.
...Did literally no-one think "Brexit" through? At all?
Brexit was an attempt by ukip to grab power from the tories. By polarizing the public and then losing by a small margin, ukip could then harness the discontent of yes voters in the upcoming elections. Their plan worked too well.

UKIP pushes Brexit, aiming to lose barely to dethrone more Tory seats: Brexit happens, UKIP implodes Tories push Brexit during the GE, expecting "Remain" to win: "Leave" wins, many Tories suddenly don't want to be PM anymore Tories call for an early GE to crush Labour: Some ~communist~~~ fucks that plan up and they lose their majority, having to strike a deal with actual terrorist sympathisers to maintain power It's starting to appear that being Right is consistently wrong 🤔
...Did literally no-one think "Brexit" through? At all?
The remain campaign did, and the maths showed that it was a fucking horrendous idea. But they ran an awful campaign and the UK was "tired of experts" (fuck you Gove you odious piece of shit) [editline]5th July 2017[/editline]
In reality after getting what they wanted the party imploded on itself because after winning the referendum they redirected their anger on each other.
That and after Cameron stepped down the Tories took up the Brexit banner to steal the UKIP vote.
What stops the UK from holding another referendum and voting whether to continue with Beexit or not?
What stops the UK from holding another referendum and voting whether to continue with Beexit or not?
The only thing that's stopping then from not going Brexit is a bunch of far-righters
What stops the UK from holding another referendum and voting whether to continue with Beexit or not?
Well, Article 50 has already been triggered so we have to jump out of the EU boat. What remains is whether the SS EU will give us a life boat, a life preserver, or just watch us drown while they have champagne and snails.

Also the UK will be reintroduced to the EU like as if we just joined.
A political party supporting an action or belief that they know is wrong just to create a division that they can use to win elections, because they know that their support base is so stupid that they can be convinced to support it, leading to said action coming to pass even though virtually every politician that pretended to support it knows it's a bad idea. This is everything wrong with modern politics in a nutshell.
...Did literally no-one think "Brexit" through? At all?
those that did usually came to the same conclusion, its a bad idea and we shouldn't do it but hey, look at us go!
