OK so it was working fine, I left my PC on rendering last night and went out, I got back in this morning and it crashed with "this program has stopped working" I've tried to reinstall, uninstall and try the buisiness version but it does the same thing, it opens up fine but as soon as I try to sign in it shows that message, I've tried using VB and i get the debug button, but using the "ignore" button just makes me PC get slower and slower and eventually overheat with Skype never signing in. Is there a way I can force to sign in as I need Skype for work?
I have the same problem, no idea what's causing it.
Try to find an older version maybe.
If you are using compability mode, it will crash if you are on Windows 7 (I think it's only 64 bit though). You have to take that away. At least that's why my skype kept crashing before.
I have had the same issue quite awhile ago, and it was indeed caused by compability mode being on when on Windows 7 64-bit.
Found a fix. http://heartbeat.skype.com/2011/05/problems_signing_into_skype_an.html
