Chairs rotating.
Huge deja vu when I saw the lighthouse.
This is about the only game I'm looking forward to, probably not gonna watch it, will be even better when it finally comes out.
Who uploaded it? I can't check since I'm on a mobile device.
[sp]"The entire Thought Experiment". Interesting, but a bit worrying.[/sp]

No one else going to comment on it? This is a really big thing.

I really hope not.
[sp]Or if they do, it better damn well blow our minds.[/sp]
Also there needs to be a thread for this game in Games Discussion.
When I saw this pop up in my subscriptions list I nearly shat myself. Looks fucking amazing.
I remember someone was at one point bitching about realism in this game, especially during the time period that it's set in. Now we go and see that they've developed rockets.

Irrational Games themselves on their own Youtube account.
I love how shocked the protagonist was after the obviously visible shackles on the chair clamped down over his forearms.
Oh gods, irrational games!

Would be funny if I called it though.
The game itself looks fairly swanky, definitely a load of improvement over the Bioshock blurry kind of look.
So nobody thought that woman in the boat sounded like Elisabeths voice actor only old and tired?
It also seems like they're hiding the faces on purpose.
The whole dream factor you guys brought up is probably just wordplay for the american dream/diversion from what's really going to happen.
Who knows.
All I know is that Kevin Levine and Irrational is good at teasing this game's story without giving anything away.
I feel legitimately teased and interested in the plot. All I know is the prelude of the city itself, Who the main characters are before they meet, and the background to the civil war in Columbia.
Otherwise as for what the main story is and how it might end.
I haven't got a fucking clue.
I was hoping for the top of the lighthouse to open up as a balloon. Would be cooler than a rocket, and just like the bathosphere

It's the same as the Lighthouse and Bathy in Bio 1.
Cept instead of a creepy art deco tower, we have a regular early 1900s lighthouse off the coast of New England.
and instead of a Bathy, it's a Wonkavator.
and the key part here, instead of getting trapped going down, you're trapped going up.
[sub]And yes I'm calling a Wonkavator for kicks.[/sub]
Bioshock Infinite: Start at the sea, take to the skies.
Bioshock 1: Start in the sky, go to the depths.
Niceeeee.

Both intersect with one location.
A Lighthouse in the middle of the Ocean.
watching that made me feel like it was the first two minutes because of how fast it was

God damnit, you guys are making me want to reply Bioshock 1. Even though I do not have it, I've only heard great things about it.

I wonder what will be next... underground? outer space?

System shock sequel with no dumbing down of the RPG mechanics.
If we're extremely lucky.
Also, anyone notice the "A" written on Booker's hand at 1:16? And the talk of this "thought experiment?" I might have a theory...
[SP]Well, y'see, I've been interested in lucid dreaming for a while. I want to fully live and remember my dreams and whatnot, but that's not the case. What IS is the case is that most of the books I've read recommend to create some kind of modification to yourself--something that will set you off and let you know that yes, this is a dream. It could be anything from a shape to a letter. Booker has drawn a letter on his hand, and it's faded, which could mean that Booker made it a habit. Considering the fact that the gun is a C96 Mauser (in service starting in 1899) and Booker was a apart of the Wounded Knee Massacre (please god not a skyrim reference) which was in 1890, that's about a nine year stretch of possible lucid dreaming. So, was it all a dream, Booker?[/SP]
~speculating games~
i like his voice acting a lot
I have never been excited for this game because I found Bioshock to be pretty disappointing. Don't know what to think of this one, hopefully the FPS gameplay is better.

Under space.
Why does it feel like people should be cramming posts into threads related to this game because of how awesome it is, yet these Bioshock related threads always just steam out and kinda die.
When the character on the boat mentions a thought experiment it seems like she's just poking fun at whatever it is Booker is about to do. As in, what he is about to do is too far fetched to work. As an analogy it could tie into a theme somewhere but I doubt it has much consequence otherwise
They look and sound like Scientists. [sp]Could be reasonable seeing as Elizabeth has some sort of powers and they want her for experimentation and possibly weaponization.[/sp]
Also the Bioshock wiki updated Booker's page with info on this backstory a bit!
http://bioshock.wikia.com/wiki/Booker_DeWitt
DeWitt was a former Pinkerton Agent who was disgraced due to his use of extreme methods on the job. As a member of the Pinkerton Agency, DeWitt had been tasked with breaking up union strike efforts. At one point he was also an Indian fighter, and was present at the battle of Wounded Knee. Following his discharge, he became a private investigator.
Before the events of BioShock Infinite, DeWitt was going through a low point in his life, one of which was a wife who died while giving birth to their child, who also died. When he was contacted by a man who offered DeWitt a mission that would help pay off his gambling debts. The client gave DeWitt information about the location of Columbia and commissioned him to find and rescue Elizabeth, a young woman who was held captive within the city, to bring her back to New York. Upon his arrival in Columbia, DeWitt hears explosions and gunfire in the distance, revealing the civil turmoil in the city. In Columbia, Booker gains access to extraordinary abilities in the form of Vigors and Nostrums.
