• Looking for suggestions for a gaming rig/ SFM

I'm looking for suggestions for a computer build that can handle SFM for hours on end and a high work load for games. Looking for >$1000 range. I don't know much about computers.
Will this rig run newer games on max settings at 60FPS? I'm looking into Fallout 4, Witcher 3 and Battlefront 3 as well as Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.

It'll run fine 1080p60 for most games coming out in the next few months but after that the 970 might not do so well on max settings. It'll be fine for Fallout 4 and Witcher 3. Not too sure about the other two games. You could probably run them on mostly max settings with 50-60fps no problem. 8 gig of ram is too small and I'd go with 2x8GB for 16 instead.
What's your thoughts on running dual 970's then? Worth the extra money or not so much?

I play games @ 1080p144hz, so if you're aiming for 1080p60hz, then I think you'll get your money's worth from them.
Thanks. With the release dates of Battlefront 3, Fallout 4 and MGSV:TPP I think I'm going to get this built sooner then later. I guess the dual 970's will make up for any doubts I may have.
One thing to keep in mind is microstutter. SLI suffers from microstutter in some games. Be sure to look into that and see if it's something you're willing to deal with.

I'm sure most games coming out from here on in will be fine with SLI.

But yes, you can disable it when a game doesn't work very well with it. You can even do so on a game by game basis, rather than manually turning it on and off. For example, World of Warcraft had severe microstuttering for me when I use SLI, but Killing Floor 2 runs perfectly. So in the nvidia control panel, I have SLI disabled for WoW, but enabled for Killing Floor 2. It's really easy to work with, but it is something to be aware of before you invest money in multiple GPUs.
What's your thoughts on running dual 970's then? Worth the extra money or not so much?
A single 970 will run the witcher 3 on max at 60 fps. (note: The Witcher 3 prefers Nvidia cards) LINK If fallout 4 falls in line with bethesda's previous gamebyro?creation engine games it will probably run great on a toaster so thats a non issue. I would advice against doing SLI/CF from the start. Its much better to upgrade to a second one later if you need it. (Cheaper as well) Its a waste of energy, hassle, and its still has problems with microstutter etc. 2 gpu's also doesnt mean 2x performance. I would also wait a bit, AMD is releasing their FURY cards next week. Filling the gap between the 970 and the Titan X for a lower price. And since you are already looking at 660$ graphic solutions, these might be right up your alley.
