HCSD Public Information Officer Rusty Fleming is firing back at the singer after she publicly blasted 4 officers for allegedly mistreating her during her arrest for possession of hash and marijuana at a Texas border patrol stop last week. In a rambling statement at her concert following the bust, Apple had threatened to make the cops "f*cking famous" as a punishment for their inappropriate actions. Fleming has personally responded to the accusations with a letter to Apple ... and it's AWESOME. It starts off ... "First, Honey, I’m already more famous than you, I don’t need your help. However, it would appear that you need mine." The letter continues, "Two weeks ago nobody in the country cared about what you had to say, -- now that you’ve been arrested it appears your entire career has been jump-started. Don’t worry Sweetie, I won’t bill you." "Next, have you ever heard of Snoop, Willie or Armand Hammer? Maybe if you would read something besides your own press releases, you would have known BEFORE you got here, that if you come to Texas with dope, the cops will take your DOPE away and put YOU in jail." "Even though you and I only met briefly in the hallway, I don’t know you but I’m sure you’re an awesome and talented young woman and even though I’m not a fan of yours, I am sure there are thousands of them out there, and I’m sure that they would just as soon you get this all behind you and let you go back to what you do best—so my last piece of advice is simple “just shut-up and sing.” Sincerely Rusty Fleming"
Read more: http://www.tmz.com/2012/09/24/fiona-apple-sheriffs-department-response-shut-up-and-sing-huds-eth-country/#ixzz27anYGOlF Well seems like celebs won't be getting away this time.
Someone give this man a medal.
Someone give this man a medal.
Yeah, that's what she gets for using a dangerous drug like pot THAT SHIT DESTROYS LIVES, GIRL
Someone give this man a medal.
are you serious? she shouldn't have been arrested to begin with. not only that but the way this sheriff is behaving is really unprofessional
death penalty america is no place for these dopefiends
Someone give this man a medal.
I was really confused by this post at first because I was pretty sure fiona apple was a lady.
are you serious? she shouldn't been arrested to begin with. not only that but the way this sheriff is behaving is really unprofessional
Why shouldn't she have been arrested, exactly?
then she gets sued by apple for last name "Apple"
Why shouldn't she have been arrested, exactly?
possession of marijuana affects literally nobody
then she gets sued by apple for last name "Apple"
I know you're joking but that's just nonsense.
possession of marijuana affects literally nobody
That's a whole different discussion and has nothing to do with the fact that she broke the law and got arrested for it.
should be put to death. how dare she uses illicit drugs. THINK OF THE CHILDREN
That's a whole different discussion and has nothing to do with the fact that she broke the law and got arrested for it.
sorry for answering your question dude
That's a whole different discussion and has nothing to do with the fact that she broke the law and got arrested for it.
10 years is excessive.
sorry for answering your question dude
Then you shouldn't be arguing that she shouldn't be arrested, you should be arguing that pot should be legal. Which happens every fucking time someone posts a thread related to marijuana in any way, so continue.
sorry for answering your question dude
You said she shouldn't have been arrested, which is bullshit because cops don't make laws, they enforce them. Weed is illegal, the police found weed on her and that's why she's been arrested. You can say that the law shouldn't exist, but it's stupid to say that she shouldn't have been arrested while she did something against the law. Is what I meant. [editline]26th September 2012[/editline]
10 years is excessive.
I agree.
Then you shouldn't be arguing that she shouldn't be arrested, you should be arguing that pot should be legal.
same thing. stop being pedantic just to start shit
well done guys way to miss the point
Fleming has personally responded to the accusations with a letter to Apple ... and it's AWESOME. It starts off ... "First, Honey, I’m already more famous than you, I don’t need your help. The letter continues, "Two weeks ago nobody in the country cared about what you had to say, -- now that you’ve been arrested it appears your entire career has been jump-started. Don’t worry Sweetie, I won’t bill you."
Haha yeah no. Fiona Apple's new album has gotten massive amounts of critical acclaim and got to #3 in the Billboard charts, obnoxious hipsters have been having spontaneous orgasms over that thing ever since it came out. I know that and I don't think I've heard a single Fiona Apple song in my life. Silly silly redneck. But yeah filthy druggy should go to prison for life weed kills and whatever.
same thing. stop being pedantic just to start shit
What is a pedant.
What is a pedant.
Adjective pedantic (comparative more pedantic, superlative most pedantic) Like a pedant, overly concerned with formal rules and trivial points of learning. Being showy of one’s knowledge, often in a boring manner. Being finicky or fastidious, especially with language.
It's good to see that famous people aren't always above the law, but on the other hand ten years for marijuana possession is way too much.
Justice properly served. Another legitimate criminal dealt with. God bless America and God bless the officers who prevented this dangerous woman from using the Devil's cabbage.
Adjective pedantic (comparative more pedantic, superlative most pedantic) Like a pedant, overly concerned with formal rules and trivial points of learning. Being showy of one’s knowledge, often in a boring manner. Being finicky or fastidious, especially with language.
So err, using the word pedantic is pedantic?
possession of marijuana affects literally nobody
So? The law is the law.
If you don't want to be imprisoned, don't have weed on you. Though 10 years is ridiculous, that spot in the prison could be used to imprison someone who's actually a threat to society...
So err, using the word pedantic is pedantic?
I would say no, if used nonchalantly, unless one is otherwise using it in an outwardly manner, yes, which I don't think was the case with the above post.
So err, using the word pedantic is pedantic?
well not unless it was the only way to describe on hows he acting I guess
So? The law is the law.
I get what you're saying; it's only fair that the law is applied to her same as everyone. However, I really don't think 'fairness' justifies someone who has done no harm to anyone facing a decade in prison.
