He said Harris suffered from a number of health conditions which could be linked to the "extreme" amounts of Coke she downed, playing a role in the cardiac arrhythmia that finally killed her. "I find that when all the available evidence is considered, were it not for the consumption of very large quantities of Coke by Natasha Harris, it is unlikely that she would have died when she died and how she died," he found.

SOURCE: http://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/news/world/coca-cola-linked-to-death-of-nz-woman-natasha-harris-coroner-finds/story-fnddckzi-1226576633521

I like how they're trying to put the blame on the drink manufacturers, this sickhead was drinking 10 litres a day I don't think any amount of warnings would've helped.
10 litres a day no shit of course you'd fucking die from that
They are making it sound like Coca-Cola was the bad guy here when in truth that woman was just fucking stupid, and probably wanted to commit suicide it seems.
10 litres a fucking day? All respect to the family, but it's stupid to not expect some form of consequence from that kind of diet.
Instead of a warning, it should be advice on how to eat a decent diet. People seriously have no idea what they ingest half the time.
"urging the soft drink giant to put health warnings on its caffeinated products." oh come on it's pretty damn obvious consuming huge amounts is bad for you
I can only drink about two liters before wanting to up-chuck.
10 liters of water in a day would be incredibly damaging to you, let alone drinking 10 liters of coke. I do like to drink coke, but 7 liters in two days was even way too much for me.
Pretty sure drinking 10 liters of anything a day isn't particularly wholesome.
Holy shit really? I can't imagine 10 liters of anything in a day is healthy. A 2 liter bottle lasts me half a week, minimum. How the hell do you put down 5 of those in a day?
This article is from last year
from Invercargill in southern New Zealand
Case closed. Also, no shit you're going to die from drinking 10L of Coke a day.
This article is from last year
February 13, 2013 2:13AM The story here is that the coroner finds the coke to be a leading cause of death. I'm sure that the death happened last year, but this is a development. Jeez, read the article and check the date..

I should've checked the date :v:
i remember i once drunk 6 330ml glass bottles of coke in a weekend and i spent the monday pretty much unconscious from the sugar-crash and caffiene down-come although i am genuinely dependant on caffeine. if i don't have any for a single day i spend the next day with a headache. it has no effect on my energy or alertness anymore, either. probably terrible for me but i only have about half a teaspoon of coffee.
Everything in excessive amounts kills you. I still remember that woman who tried to break the record of drinking most water, she died later that same day.
I hope they don't put warnings on That woman was a fucking idiot and Coca Cola should get 0 blame
If they start putting health warnings on coca-cola bottles, shouldn't they do the same on watertaps?
If they start putting health warnings on coca-cola bottles, shouldn't they do the same on watertaps?
WARNING: this wibbly-dibbly splashy thingy might give you nasty tummy rumblies if you slurp lot of it.
I drank around 1.5-2 litre-a-day when I was younger. It really ruins your teeth :/
I only drank juices in that quantity.
30 cigs, 10 liters of coke, nothing but snacks lol
I only drank juices in that quantity.
Bottled juice still has a large amount of sugar in it. Water is pretty much the only fluid that should be consumed around those quantities. [editline] Holyshit [/editline] I'm not suggesting that you can drink as much water as you like without repercussion; merely saying that water is the only liquid that should be consumed in that region. 10L in one sitting may kill you; 10L per day won't. On the other hand, 10L of coke/juice would fuck your shit up.
Bottled juice still has a large amount of sugar in it. Water is pretty much the only fluid that should be consumed around those quantities.
There is actually thing known as "water intoxication"
"(She would) go crazy if she ran out... she would get the shakes, withdrawal symptoms, be angry, on edge and snappy," her mother-in-law Vivien Hodgkinson told the inquest into her death last year. Harris's family told the inquest she had all her teeth removed after they went rotten due to excessive soft drink consumption and at least one of her children was born with no enamel on its teeth. Mr Crerar said the family had not considered her Coke habit dangerous because the drink did not carry any health warnings.
I just... You notice your loved one being dangerously addicted to a substance, and the thought of it being at least a little unhealthy doesn't cross your mind? Where's you rational thinking you goddamn sheep
Moderation is key!
Everything in excessive amounts kills you. I still remember that woman who tried to break the record of drinking most water, she died later that same day.
I'm sure people would agree with putting warning labels on drinking water, think of the dangers!
Pretty sure if you drink 10 litres of water a day you're not going to be healthy for long
I'm fairly sure drinking 10 litres of anything would cause death, even water would probably still kill you at that kind of dosage. [editline]13th February 2013[/editline]
Pretty sure if you drink 10 litres of water a day you're not going to be healthy for long
Oh you would post that before me wouldn't you.
