Can't answer incoming calls - HTC Desire with MIUI
7 replies, posted
I recently swapped the stock ROM for MIUI, and it really made my old Desire (old as in AMOLED old) snappier. There's a problem though.
Whenever I receive a call, the screen won't turn on. Pressing the power button puts the caller on hold, and still doesn't turn the screen on.
The only thing I can do is press the power button, wait for about 20 seconds, press the power button again to make the screen come on, and call them back.
For a phone, this is quite a big drawback. Anyone have a solution to this problem?
I don't have MIUI, but perhaps the build you're using doesn't even support it?
Check on the site.
Why wouldn't it support it? the ROM is made for phones, not tablets.
Also, what exactly would it be that it doesn't support? I can call people just fine, missed calls register correctly, and the phone rings like normal when I get a call. It's just that I can't pick up.
perhaps screen waking on ring? I don't know, I remember the alpha of the sgs 2 was very lacking in 'phone' things
I found a setting called "force proximity sensor", which apparently helps if you turn it off. Now I just need someone to call me...

ring yourself with your home phone?
Home phone?
People still have those? I though they went out of fashion in 1995.
They're out of fashion until suddenly the power goes out for more than a day.

One reason why I will never, ever give up a POTS line and a phone to connect to it that doesn't use battery.
