My monitor recently broke, and I'm looking for a new one. The price should be no more than 120 pounds. I live in the UK. So please could FP find a new monitor for me. Please.
Well it would help if you told us what size you wanted. Also assuming you don't want a CRT.
I suggest you buy 2, that always is really helpfull (:
It doesn't matter. Preferably bigger than 14". I was thinking of one of these; http://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Displays/Monitors/TFT+20+-+23/LG+LCD+MONITOR+22%22+WIDE+W2243S+BLACK+?productId=37513 http://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Displays/Monitors/TFT+20+-+23/22%22+LCD+Monitor+16%3A10+5ms%2C+LG%2C++Black+?productId=38818 or http://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Displays/Monitors/TFT+20+-+23/Samsung+SyncMaster+2243NW++22%22+Widescreen+LCD+Monitor%2C+Black+?productId=38971
Those all cost more than £120 with VAT.
You posted some products from Aria - Aria are sound. When I've ordered from them I've got next day delivery and any issues have been corrected by them. Their own brand products are good.

On top of that Acer refused blankly to even consider repairing for free.

I think that would take more than a "nudge" I have had no problems with my acer screen, and my acer laptop screen colour quality is amazing.
What. I think that would take more than a "nudge" I have had no problems with my acer screen, and my acer laptop screen colour quality is amazing.
Nope, I nudged it with my elbow. Didn't even topple over. Just moved back a few centimetres. I'm not going to argue with the quality of the colour, because it's good. It's the quality I expect when I pay £120 for something. Although when I pay £120 I'd expect a refund after something like that happened. After a several years expect some issues with your laptop screen. The ribbon cables in Acer's (Particularly the Travelmate series) are ropey. They're also an absolute bitch to replace. OP also might want to look at the Argos catalogue. Not long ago there were some really good deals on LCD screens.
If you nudge a screen with your elbow so the screen moves JUST a few centimeters back, then what the hell do you expect a free repair from? My acer screen (v223HQ was cheap) works perfectly, but I would never even consider smashing it with my elbow, so it nudges back a few centimeters, then of course Acer won't repair it..
