Hello, I'm planning to build a new Gaming PC... My budget is around $800, I'm wondering what kind of performance I could get with that kind of money (I also plan to record gameplay). I could also use some help picking out best components I could get with that sort of money. Opinions? Recommendations? Please help me out.
Would build you an above than average gaming PC if you bought all your parts from Newegg. I can give you a list of parts for about 750$ [editline]12th July 2013[/editline] If he can dish out ~750 bucks, here is a pretty good pc for the price. AMD Phenom II x4 @ 3.4GHz, ASUS mobo with turbo key and i'm pretty sure it has mem-ok, XFX 7870 which is a very good card for todays games and can definitely get good frames at 1080p resolutions on high settings (excluding some high demanding games), 8 gigs of g.skill sniper ram @ 1600MHz, WD blue has great quality fofr the price and 1tb of space is plenty, cm 750w psu which is plenty even if you want to eventually upgrade and buy a 2nd gpu and it's 80 plus bronze certified for less more efficient power consumption, and of course the case is a corsair 350D which is a fairly new case and imo is just as beautiful as it is functional (he can spend ~$25 more for a windowed side panel). These are just the prices on newegg with some sales, but im too lazy to look on other sites for lower prices.
These are just the prices on newegg with some sales, but im too lazy to look on other sites for lower prices.
Apparently you're too lazy to even look up modern parts if you're recommending a 4 generation old processor for a $800 build. And your links don't even work. I'd recommend an i5-4570 and something like: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130694 for a motherboard. An HD7950 would also work well with it.
My recommendation: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/1gdoQ (but get this combo deal: http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboBundleDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.1326986). It's about 751, but you'll have to add a case to that (cheapest but still good option is the Challenger). If you wanted to up the budget you could get a better video card. The 650 Ti Boost is decent, but a 7950 as Gigabite recommended would be a big improvement.
Wouldn't it be better to save money on getting a i5-4570 and a cheaper motherboard and put the money into a better GPU instead? You're going to be far more GPU limited by a 650ti than CPU-limited by a 4570 [editline]14th July 2013[/editline] http://pcpartpicker.com/p/1gkE3 You just need to find yourself a nice ATX case that you like, if you want to spend a little more money go for a 760 instead of a 660
