Hella is a great math-rock band from Nevada City, California, they're a blend of noise rock, experimental, and math rock. There's only two main members of the band which are Spencer Seim and Zach Hill, the rest of the people down their long complicated road are not important, so just ignore them.
Enough talking, onto the music.

Hold Your Horse Is is their best album IMO, but I'd suggest getting The Devil Isn't Red.
Fucking incredible. I haven't listened to them in some months, though. I liked that group with Hill and another Hella guy and like a third of TMV, too.
more like hella shitty

no i kid
My friend's brother is Gs with the drummer
There's No 666 In Outer Space is in my top 5 records of all time. Zach Hill is a robot from the future.
seems pretty mediocre for math rock. I mean sure it's organized dissonance, but that's old. Just because no one has done it in math rock doesn't mean it should be done in math rock.
some of it is pretty fun regardless. Certain songs get pretty annoying after a while.
Battles
Republic of Rough & Ready was not bad, but everything was annoying and hard to listen to. Not my kind of music.
The only thing I really like by Hella is No 666.
If you haven't heard it, give it a shot. They tried out a 5 man format and it's future music. So good.
not my fav. math rock band, but I still like 'em
Well that wasn't good.
Wow, I can't believe it's been this many posts and no one was like math rock is a fake/made up genre.
Anyway, if you like Hella, I recommend A Minor Forest and Sweep the Leg Johnny.
or Don Caballero
