• Computer won't start....

Well i don't really know how to start this but I guess I'll just jump right into it. One day I decided to restart my computer because my I haven't restarted for a day (kept it on sleep). As soon as the computer turns on it loads the MOBO screen then half of the Windows 7 black loading screen and goes instant blue screen then turns off and it just stays in that loop unless I select Startup Repair which also did nothing. I thought it must be something with my ram sticks and so I take each of them out and put in new ones and of course that doesn't work either. So I unplug my hard drive and plug it in on another computer where I can access all my files. I reinstalled windows on it and plugged the hard drive back into my computer with still no luck. If anyone has any suggestions please let me know. This computer is only 8 months old... and no, I did not install anything new from that 1 day so I do not think it has anything to do with installing a new thing. Do a system restore? Press F8 whent he computer boots up. If the computer boots to Windows but gives you a blue screen it's most likely a hard drive problem. Try booting with safe mode and update your drivers.

I also tried system restore and said it was corrupt so that is why I completely rebooted my computer
Doesn't matter, we're talking about a different computer, the BIOS and drivers will be different on the motherboard. It's not a hardware issue if it's booting up into windows (even if it blue screens). If it was a ram problem it wouldn't boot to begin with, if it was a PSU problem it would shut down automatically. Can you post all your computer specs? E: actually it seems like it could be a hardware issue since it doesn't actually display the blue screen.

My computer specs are: MOBO- Motherboard M5A78L-M LX CPU - AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition Deneb 3.4GHz Socket AM3 125W Quad-Core Processor GPU - Sapphire Radeon HD 7770 PSU - CORSAIR CX series CX430 430W ATX12V Hard Drive - Seagate Barracuda 1TB [editline]14th March 2014[/editline] I actually can get into system repair and such but like I said i rebooted my computer and now there are no longer any repair points
Can you boot into bios?
Can you boot into bios?
Yes, I can boot into bios... I said the MOBO screen loads up so if I press anything during the mobo screen it will run.
When you get to the repair screen can you boot into safe mode? You can put your installation cd in and boot to that from the bios and if it works than it's obviously not a hardware issue I think. I still think it's your harddrive or mobo, otherwise it shouldn't be booting up to repair screen or bios at all.
When you get to the repair screen can you boot into safe mode?
I selected safe mode and it loaded all windows files then froze for a quick second and gave me the same blue screen...
Well first of all go into Bios and disable the automatic restart after bsod and find out what error code you're getting.
Well first of all go into Bios and disable the automatic restart after bsod and find out what error code you're getting.
I can't find the automatic restart option in my Bios

Nvm I got it.... I just went into advanced boot menu.
Your OS can't be booted for some reason. It could be because the hdd is damaged (but it works on the different computer), the sata cable is damaged (im guessing this works too?), there's a virus (but it's a clean install), it can't find the bootable device. Did you remove all other devices? Secondary drives, usbs, cds, etc. Go into bios and make sure the correct drive is set as #1 for boot.

[editline]14th March 2014[/editline] nvm, the sata cable obviously works if I can get into startup repair.
The sata cable could still not work even if its booting up successfully. You can try to change your settings in bios from sata to ide, or reinstall windows again in this computer, or get another hdd with windows installed and see if that one works.

If I select bootup from CD it just brings me to the same Windows loading then blue screen. I am also nervous if I use another hdd with windows installed it might corrupt their files. [editline]14th March 2014[/editline] I just tried another sata cable... No luck. I really do not want to bring this in to a repair shop and make me pay them $150+
I still have a 1 year warranty on my hard drive but i doubt the hard drive is the problem if it works on another computer.
This error comes from windows being unable to load a driver that is critical to starting up the PC. This could be due to a virus, or some other error that occured. Anyways, check here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/324103/en

You installed windows on another system with different components. Im not really sure what youa few posts back. But did you also try to inslat windows from a cd on a clean(formatted) HDD yet on the pc in question?

If I do it will say Loading Windows Files and have the same blue screen as the problem before. [editline]17th March 2014[/editline] Fixed it! The only reason why I couldn't install Windows 7 on this current PC (That I fixed) was because the disc I used is corrupt.
