• Whats a good beer?

I'm turning 19 in a few days and I'm looking for some new things to pick up at the liquor store. I realize i could just go and randomly pick one but I'd rather not drink something that tastes like piss. I've had Sapporo, Hobgoblin, Guinness, and then the normal stuff, Coors, Molson, local beers, etc. Any suggestions (besides that shit corona) are great. ps I've heard good things about red stripe, any good?
Most american beer is basically bottled piss. go for imported beer, just stay the fuck away from Heineken.
Yeah I normally steer clear of beer because my friends go to gas stations where all they have are Canadian/American beers and none of them are even slightly smooth. Also all my friends swear that Heineken is the best beer in the world as well. Sapporo was probably my favorite out of the ones I've tried, it went down really easily and tasted pretty good, but Hobgoblin wasn't bad once I got used to it.
Drink for ale-beers. They are good... Most of them. I really can't say any good or bad lager because they all taste the same for me.
I don't really know much about the different types, but from what I just read it seems like I'd like ales the most. I know I'd have to try it first but it sounds better than the other kinds.

Do you live on in the Mid West or something? My friend, here are some fucking great American beers: Microbrews: Downtown Brown Great White Boont Ale Red Hawk Fat Tire Jamaica Pale Ale 8 Ball Stout Breweries that make pretty fine beer: Rouge Deschutes Anderson Valley Anchor Lost Coast Brewing North Coast Brewing Beers that Douchebags drink: Blue Moon
I don't think I can get any of those in Canada, and if i can i can't here haha. But i think my dad has had Jamaica Pale ale kicking around his house before, it sounds familiar.
None, why do you want to drink anyway?
Bud and Sol are good beers.
None, why do you want to drink anyway?
I don't really have a good answer for that, but I suppose because I want to.
Tecate and Guinness are good. I don't drink much, tough.
None, why do you want to drink anyway?
What an idiot question, why do you think?
fat tire
German Beer.
Cephalopoid has the right idea. Stick with microbreweries if you can help it, macro beers such as Molson, Pabst and the like pale in comparison. (ale pun!) Short list: Anchor Steam Beer. Innis and Gunn. (Aged in oak whiskey casks, a bit of an acquired taste) Éphémère, Fin du Monde, Blanche de Chambly. (all by Quebecois brewery Unibroue, pretty easy to find in Canada) Rogue puts out some solid beers if you get a chance to try them, they've got a pretty killer hazelnut ale. Crannog puts out an awesome stout dubbed Back Hand of God. Hoegaarden is a good wheat beer for beginners. If you get a chance, try some Belgian Trappist ales, though they can be pricey. Lambics are pretty out there but tasty as fuck. Depending on where you are in Canada, most of these shouldn't be too hard to get other than the Belgians. All of them are worth checking out, but really just go at it with some enthusiasm dude! IPA's, lagers, pilsners, stouts, you'll find what you like and you'll probably enjoy the drinking while you're doing it. Win/win! Be adventurous!
Any beer that isn't Fosters or Carlings.
NO HEINEKEN, it's nasty :P Samuel Adams :)

a beer that tastes good is a good beer
when you're below the age of 21, the rule is to not be picky. there's a shop near me that sells 24 bottles of budweiser for £13, but they're out of date. i think the asian man there is just emptying his bladder

Don't fuck with Heineken! It's the best lager beer. Ale is great. Kilkenny is one of my faves. It's very easy to drink (lighter than Guiness) and tastes really good. Budweiser.. meh.. it's very tasteless. Corona is better if you want something refreshing. Anyway, my faves are...
