What's the safe temperature range for my GPU:
Gigabyte GV-R485MC-1GH ?
[img]http://www.benchmark.pl/uploads/image/fotki_recenzje/gigabyte_hd4850_1gb/gigabyte_r4850_mc_1_490.jpg[/img]
It has the passive cooling, so when I ran Crysis on High details [game recommended me those] with custom tweaks, after exitting the game i launched CCC and it says 102°C [215°F]. Same thing happened with The Sims 3 (my sister played and I wanted to look at it).
Wow! 102C, you must get a fan next to that.
Is 52C safe for laptop processor?
I really don't know, I feel like an idiot.
I recently played Crysis. 108.
It's passive cooling anyways, so I expected that.
I've got cooler on top of my PC case.
Reapply thermal paste?
Zip-tie a fan to it.

Ghahhahah xD
108c, most card can go up to 120c safe, mine goes to 108c with EVERY GAME i also play everygame max and my fan is stuck on 30% wich is bs..
Well, dont worry.
My HD 4670 tends to go to 100+ while running Call of Duty 4, not good :v: I don't actually know the safe range for my card either, all I know is that is shit hot.

Use Vsync
[editline]01:10PM[/editline]
You would be amazed at what capping the framerate output of the card does
And I who was worried when my card exceeded 80C.
[editline]01:15PM[/editline]
And I heavily doubt that anything over 90C is to be considered safe.
my 8600gt fucking melted. it was at 120°C
I'd be very worried if any card went above 80C. 75C is max I'd want my card to be.

What's your VGA card?
Also, I played GTA IV for 1 hour, and the temperature was 79.
Yeah, you need a fan on it.
Use zip-ties to hook a 90/120mm one on there.
RV770 GPUs don't have a huge issue with temperature (110 or so is safe), but I'd get a fan next to/on that card.
Anything above 80 for sustained periods shortens the lifetime of the card severely. Not a problem if you're an enthusiast who keeps up with the new generations I guess.
Jeeze, after reading this thread my overheating problems don't seem so bad.
9800gt @ 25 extra Mhz runs at 90c in crysis. Do you guys have any fans at all?
[editline]10:19AM[/editline]
Besides the ones onboard the cards ofc.
I can't afford a fan.
PC was expensive enough.
While playing Crysis I keeo an eye on it [temperature slowly raises]. Just tell me, when should I stop.
Lol, it's like $5 for a fan.
Yeah $5 for a fan, that I can't put anywhere :argh: Fucking Packard Bell and their gimpy ass cases.

Surprisingly, it did nought. Got to love my airflow man :v:
My 4870 idles at 45C, and gets up to 65 on load.
What are you guys doing wrong?
:v:
Putting hot coals in with the parts, someone said it makes it faster :saddowns:

My 8800GT idles on 56 and goes to 60.
My cooler is some badass motherfucker. Honestly, I think the sensor must be broken, it should go way higher and massive load.

NOTICE that my card has a passive cooling.
make sure it isnt clogged with dust

Oh wait I know what you did wrong, you bought a dell.
Dust really bumps up the temperatures after a while. When my 8800GTS was brand new it ran on 50 degrees idle, 67 on load, without any auxiliary cooling. Nowadays it's more like 72 while only browsing FP...
I cleaned out the fan on the card once but it only helps so much when there's no way to dismantle the case.
[QUOTE=Lamp;16457854]make sure it isnt clogged with dust[/QUOTE]
I bought it 2 days ago.
Also, I tried to lower details in Crysis and:
Low - 79-81
Medium - 83-84
High (textures to medium) - 90 - 94.
I think I will stay with high.
But wait, I'm an advanced Crysis tweaker! I will think of something.
And tell me, what is the highest safe temperature value.
Wow, maxing crysis out with my Radeon 3850, only puts it to around 65c.
The ones you're exceeding. :v:
Seriously, just buy a 5 buck fan along with some zipties.
