• Youtube locked itself to 720p resolution when they upgraded their systems to support 60fps?

Has anyone else noticed that they cannot play content higher than 720p now for videos? This is on desktops. The reason I ask is that I cannot select a resolution higher than 720p now, 1080p or higher is no where to be found on that list.
Turn off html5 for youtube.
Firefox can't properly wrap its head around DASH in html5, and their non-DASH videos are limited to 720p Get the aurora or nightly version, go to about:config, change media.mediasource.enabled to "true" and add another value called media.mediasource.ignore_codecs, also set to "true". Note that you might experience massive bugs ranging from the video not playing, to memory leaks and firefox process still running after you've "closed" it and using like 800MB RAM. You probably won't be able to seek through the video either, I know I can't [editline]8th November 2014[/editline] I've also heard it works in nightly without even changing those settings, so you might want to try that
