Fucking yes, I love both of these games so much.
Played both games, and I have XWing vs Tie Fighter on disc along with the Balance of Power expansion pack, both with their original jewel cases
I need to purchase another joystick when I get the chance, I will definitely be purchasing these from GOG
oh my god
take my money now pls
i've beaten star trek: bridge commander a few times and i've enjoyed it. are these worth the time too? i know these games from the same devs as stbc.
I really have to buy TIE Fighter. I'm a sucker for games that have you play as the Empire.
Great games, especially Tie-Fighter seeing you're in the perspective of the Empire.

Well theses are streight up Fighter Simulators.
I remember spawning 20 Super Star Destroyers once in Skirmish on X-Wing Alliance.
Now please let us have an HD Galactic Battlegrounds as well.
I have both X-Wing and TIE Fighter sitting right behind me. X-Wing is so old, it comes in the form of 5 3.5in floppy disks

I used the system requirements on that box to tell me what my first non-8088 based PC should be.
Didn't get a sound card for 2 more years though, so my audio consisted of Jesus and Mary Chain - Automatic in a cheap walkman that I strapped to my thigh. I still get screenshot flashbacks when I hear that album.
I never got the chance to play X-Wing or Tie Fighter, only XvT and XWA. This is amazing news.
If they're going to re-release more Lucas Arts games, I hope they release Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds. Yes, it's basically AoE II Total Conversion, and a very corny one at that but it was a good TC, that offered a fair amount of content and often times hilariously bad B grade voice actors and character impressions.
Along with NS 2.1, they were the first games I openly played online, I can't recall how many times I played custom maps over msn's "Zone" Match making service. Good times.

Disney really seem to be expanding into digital PC downloads these last few months. First a load of games appeared on Steam and now this.
Please let Star Wars Episode I: Racer come to this with modifications that allow it to run on modern PCs. I'd love to run that online multiplayer against friends that don't currently own the PC version.
Also, looking into the Xwing and Tie Fighter ports, they include both their original versions AND their 1998 special joystick-only versions.
