• My GPU fan won't automatically increase it's speed to cool down my card

My fan use to automatically increase its speed to keep my card cool and automatically decrease when nothing graphically intensive was running, but when I updated to 9.11 catalyst drivers it fucked up some of my games. So I downgraded back to the 9.10 catalyst drivers and now my gpu fan isn't automatically increasing its speed to cool my card. I have to manual turn up my fan speed when I want to play a game, otherwise my temps shoot up to around 85c. Specs Windows 7 64bit Sapphire 5870 1GB Q9500 Corsair 750 psu And yes, I have my fan set to automatic.
Have you tried a clean install of drivers?
Make sure you didn't disconnect or made the fan power loose when you install the card.

Even though it is very unlikely, I would give that connection a try. Just to rule it out though.
Downgrade to the same drivers before this happen, new drivers are not worth it if its going to overheat your card.

I had installed the 9.11 drivers as an upgrade and they fucked up some of my games, so I downgraded to 9.10 drivers (which I had the past couple of months and they worked fine). [editline]03:16AM[/editline] The fan works, and there's no visible power connection to the fan. The entire card is encased in plastic.
