I think a lot of people will be pleased that it's far more about horror than the massive shooting gallery the previous titles have been.
Also for the trailer, the music was just awful. I don't get why trailers today place these unfitting songs everywhere. It's offensive.
Really wish the demo was on PC :/
i hope it plays at least vaguely like a Resident Evil game in some way, it would really suck if RE's whole approach to game design just became "whatever's popular in survival horror right now"
"oh PT was a thing? do it"
"oh Outlast 2 is coming out? do it"

Funny thing is it takes place on a plantation just like Outlast 2. Really gonna have to put some work in to make this stand out from the other first person jump horror crap on the market.
Im so incredibly confused by the progression of the Resident Evil series. I havent played the games since they first few, but is the series even about zombies anymore? I swear to god one of the recent games that came out was just a bunch of fucked up crazy people with guns, a completely different game and mood from the originals.

It went from zombies and a few freaks of nature to all-out biological nightmares. The story just became rancid trying to be serious despite being so bombastic and silly.

It's a shame but it looks like there's some hidden shit in this demo and people would just immediately find everything if it was on PC

Well as pointed out in the videos section, the options has aim assist, so presumably gunplay remains in the final product. Whether it'll be first-person like the teaser or not is unknown.
oh my GOD is it going to be first-person
tbh I would be entirely fucking okay with that as long as they take the game back to ammo conservation and inventory management. I enjoy RE5 and I can get through RE6 but it's not because they even close to rival 4 or any other under that.

Yeah no I'm playing it right now and shit man this is pretty good.
Some things of note: there doesn't appear to be a button to turn off your flashlight and I haven't seen any prompts to hide under shit. That, plus the "Aim assist" and "Invert L1/R1 Buttons and R1/R2 Buttons" and "Invert L1/R1 Buttons and L2/R2 Buttons" options (the triggers don't seem to actually do anything in the demo), I don't think we're getting a generic ooh-spooky-also-no-fighting-back-so-you-have-to-hide-all-the-time game.
As far as the house goes, it feels like I'm walking through a larger, more detailed house from RE4 where there's rotted food and shit everywhere and the paint is chipping away and the wood is rotting and the water slowly dripping from the sink is brown.
Good shit.
