Peugeot 306 Break; Airbag warning light on constantly in all of the sudden

Hello Facepunchers, about a week ago the airbag warning light would go on (solid, no flashing) as soon as the ignition is on, and it will stay on the whole time until the ignition is off.
Me and my dad already tried to to the thing that usually does the trick; reconnecting the plugs underneath the driver and passenger seat multiple times, which hasn't done anything. We did this while the ignition was both on and off. I already tried finding some informative things on Google, but all of them refer to the airbag warning light flashing, but not when it's steadily on.
What could be we looking at here? We got this car for only a few months and now already it's acting up.
Thanks a lot in advance.
You probably have a faulty airbag then. Nothing more fancy to it.
Well I hope not, my dad would get crazy of he would have to take the dashboard apart again. (he disassembled it earlier to get the ventilation system fixed).
The electronics in airbags are pretty damn sensitive so it wouldn't surprise me
Every Peugeot we've owned has had its airbag light come on at some point in its life :v:
So, what now? If checking for wrong connections doesn't help at all, we might be fucked.
I wouldn't fuck around with the connections of an airbag too much. just a tiny little spark in the wrong place will make it go off (if it suddenly works :v:)

"WARNING: Airbag failure"
Followed seconds later by
"WARNING: ABS failure"
And funny enough the ABS still worked fine despite the warning.
Had it serviced by Peugeot many times (under the warranty) for it, they couldn't find the cause.
That happened on one of the first Peugeot 307 BTW, we finally sold it right before the warranty ran out.
Long story short, don't believe those errors completely, french wiring is funky.
Could make sense, my dad is a total Peugeot fan for no good reason.
My dad has been thinking, he thinks it might be the fuse that's bad (I doubt it though). Could this help at all?
get a mechanic or someone with a scan tool to scan it first
we had a car in that had the airbag warn light on all the time. It turns out it was the seat belt buckle exploder restrainer thingy (pulls you back into your seat in a crash)
Scanning the ECU won't be a bad idea. I'm going to look up the manual online to see if that warning light can indicate more problems.
Yaa, diagnosing an airbag light without a code is like diagnosing a check engine light without a code.
Could be acceleration sensor (there's a few, and any one could be bad!), an airbag itself, a seatbelt pretensioner, a seat weight sensor, the passenger airbag light bulb, the airbag computer, a loose plug, lost communication between airbag components, etc.
Get a code and start there.
Hell, if you're a poor soul who drives a Volvo, you can throw the airbag light just by unplugging the climate controls. :v: then it has to go back to the dealer to get reset.. eventhough there's nothing wrong with it. Suicide.
Doesn't make sense why so many crap is all assigned to one light.
I don't think we could get this problem fixed ourselves.
I had a similar issue with my accord. For some reason the airbag light was on and I couldn't figure out why, there was no reason it should be and the car has not been in a serious accident.
I searched for a way to check the codes as I don't have a reader that can pull them. Once I got the codes it said something like "internal thermal fuse blown" and "Drivers airbag deployed/Circuit short"
The drivers bag code was because I unplugged it and turned the car on, it couldn't find the bag so it threw a code, the other code funnily enough, was due to LOW BATTERY VOLTAGE. Seems the system is really finicky to improper voltages. I just reset the SRS and the light has been off since.
So, did you recently run the battery really low or unplug any of the airbags and turn the car on before the light came on? Your issue could be there. What year 306 is it and what other info can you give about it, like engine and stuff.
