I've got a motherboard with an interesting problem - it's incompatible with 64 bit - or rather part of it is. It's got ATI integrated graphics, yet I have an NVidia graphics card, a gtx 260. Anyway, long story short, in 32 bit, everything is fine and gravy, but in 64 bit, upon driver install, the card fails. This makes it clear to me that I need to be replacing my motherboard and, while I'm at it, my aging CPU. Currently have: ASUS M2A-VM motherboard AMD Athlon X2 6000+ 3.00Ghz My choices are as such: Replace Mobo and CPU, going intel, price range around £250 total, would prefer to spend under Or... Replace Mobo and CPU, going AMD, price range of the same So the age old question - Intel or AMD? I've heard great things about the i7 and i5 CPUs, but am put off by their hefty price. so please, I'd appreciate hearing recommendations of good CPUs and MB's In advance, Thankee Muchly.
You wanna go AMD if you're on a budget. What's the rest of your specs?
