• Britain sends three naval ships to Gibraltar, threatens to sue Spain over border charges
    27 replies, posted
British warships are to visit Gibraltar in a show of strength in the stand-off with Spain over control of The Rock. [..] Officials admitted this could go as far as legal action in the European Court of Justice. After the call, Mr Cameron vowed: ‘Britain will always stand up for the people of Gibraltar.’ http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2386850/British-warships-set-sail-Gibraltar-strength-diplomatic-row-border-controls-deepens.html
A fleet of British ships at war are the best negotiators.
Oh no! Ships that won't be used and an angry letter or two.
Watch out the Spanish might gather another armada! Then you'd be fucked!
Just declare war already!
Oh no! Ships that won't be used and an angry letter or two.
sounds like someone just realised how international politics actually works instead of their previous action man fantasies of SEND IN SOLDIERS LEL
Man, Gibraltar in modern times is like a calmer version of the Falklands, but it's weird cause the Falklands used to be a calmer version of what the Gibraltar conflict used to be like. Even more weirdly, both countries as a majority want to be part of Britain. Come on, can't you at least give us the two countries that actually want to be associated with this shitstain?
Gunboat diplomacy
Just declare war already!
Hey it might just pull Spain out of its depression!
Watch out the Spanish might gather another armada! Then you'd be fucked!
Until they sail into another storm and all get annihilated again :v:
You better not piss off Britain Spain, Or you will get the angry letters!

our naval ships are fucked
Just declare war already!
They don't have the economy right now to go to war. They'll just continue provoking us, but I fear it will get worse over time.
Suing Spain would just lead to us having to bail them out anyway.
Isn't a warship a bit much just to deliver an angry letter? I figured mail would work just fine.
Isn't a warship a bit much just to deliver an angry letter? I figured mail would work just fine.
hey we spent millions of pounds on these ships let us play with them for a bit
hey we spent millions of pounds on these ships let us play with them for a bit
Now now Elizabeth, the navy aren't toys.
Falklands V 2.0
We sent our whole navy? That's a bit extreme isn't it?
Oh fuck I'm driving down to gib tomorrow
Routine deployment, happens every year. The exercise is called Cougar 13, Cougar 12 happened last year and Cougar 11 before that. The Navy have been preparing for this for a while. Odd there's no Type 45 in the task force. Would have thought we'd want to show off that shiny piece of steel even more.
I was about to say. This is a routine movement. But of course, Daily Mail.
Why do we keep linking news stories from this bog paper?
Why do we keep linking news stories from this bog paper?
For a while it was an unspoken rule to post a secondary source, like the mods made us do with FOX News, but that went away. Also Matty here is really the only to post articles from the good ol' Mail.
