At least 239 others were wounded, according to state-run National News Agency. A would-be suicide bomber who survived the attack told investigators he was an ISIS recruit, a Lebanese security source said. The man, a Lebanese national from Tripoli, Lebanon, was taken into custody after the blasts. He told authorities that he and three other attackers arrived in Lebanon from Syria two days ago, the source said. Lebanese intelligence believes the bombers could be part of a cell dispatched to Beirut by ISIS leadership, the source said, but investigators are still working to verify the surviving suspect's claim. The three other bombers were killed in the explosions. In a purported ISIS statement circulated on social media, the terror group claimed responsibility for the blasts. CNN hasn't confirmed the authenticity of the statement.
This took place at around midnight, Eastern US time, or about 5 AM GMT on Friday
This shit is getting fucking nuts.
This shit is getting fucking nuts.
This took place before the Paris attacks, so some are wondering if this is coordinated
At least they have one of the nutjobs in captivity, might finally get some answers.
I'm honestly getting butterflies in my stomach, I don't know what to think after today...
I'm honestly getting butterflies in my stomach, I don't know what to think after today...
Remember remember, the 13th of November. I wonder what the world's reaction will be to today's events, specifically France and NATO.
Kid's dad tackled the 2nd suicide bomber before he could reach the crowd that gathered from the 1st suicide bomber, sacrificing himself to save a bunch of people. Let's not forget these two bombings were also carried out by ISIS, in the capital of Lebanon. The marginalization of this event is a bit stupid.
something needs to be done, but what i do not know

Terrorist attacks will always get more coverage in mainstream media/on social media in western nations with a larger social media presence than other areas.
I'm afraid these fuckers are slowly but surely spiraling us all into some real shitty times. I mean, I understand that they want some retribution for the Iraq situation and the wars before that, but to kill fucking everyone who has nothing to do with it is just real fucking stupid. I don't understand. So many people have suffered already and are going to suffer because a bunch of nutjobs want... What exactly?
I had been trying to contact my friend in the area since the news broke and only just got a facebook message from him about an hour ago. He says there is massively increased security in the city, with checkpoints all over (he lives about 15 minutes from the blast site). He also says due to the general chaos he had to drive around with a gun in his car ever since.
This shit is getting fucking nuts.
Not to downplay the severity of this but there's been about 20 suicide bombings the last 5 years in Lebanon. Now that it happened in Paris which is unusual you'll probably see reports of it happening in some of the usual places because that's what's trending right now. source: http://cpostdata.uchicago.edu
