Bluhhhh don't trust putin a inch, he'll stab you in the back.
Lol sure. "Rebuilding" will most likely end up as Trump bending over for Putin.
Maybe they can go fishing?
One step closer to the United States of Russia!
I don't give a shit what you say, the USA and Russia, two major super powers, not being constantly at each others throats is a good thing. No more cold war BS.
I don't give a shit what you say, the USA and Russia, two major super powers, not being constantly at each others throats is a good thing. No more cold war BS.
Is fine to rebuild ties. But not with either Trump or Putin. No.

Obama attempted to be friendly from what I understand before Russia started fucking with the rest of the world. Being idle in that situation does not look good on us.
Is fine to rebuild ties. But not with either Trump or Putin. No.
they're both collossal twats but if this is one of the few good things they achieve during their office then that'll be the silver lining to the next 4 shitty years
Is putin heiling?
Yeah. Russia had very close ties to Nazi Germany during WW2. Didn't you know?

Russia under Medvedev's presidency allowed the U.S. no fly zone under humanitarian a pretext. But then, the U.S. escalated that to full on military intervention without UNSC consent. Clearly there is cause for distrust. Putin was pissed at both Medvedev and the United States, and probably thought the U.S. was trying to undermine Russian interests.

Have we ever had a President who's more obviously a puppet than Trump Putin's not a very good puppeteer, you're supposed to hide the fact that your hand is shoved up the puppet's ass
You do know what actually happened during the Obama administration that lead to this right? Obama attempted to be friendly from what I understand before Russia started fucking with the rest of the world. Being idle in that situation does not look good on us.
You make it sound like the USA did absolutely no fucking around in the world. That's not the case, both the USA and Russia have been aggressive to each other through proxy wars, arming anti-the-other-guy rebels forever. Remember the soviet-afghan war? The thing the USA funded ~moderate rebels~ in? The one that ended up in 9/11 after the states didn't uphold their promises, among other things? This isn't a one sided story for America here. If it takes a orange billionaire orangutan to get through to putin then so be it.
I wonder where Putin will liberate Russian minorities next.
Gotland. They been wanting it from us for hundreds of years, since if you control Gotland you control the whole baltic sea region.
Well, guess it isn't odd that Putin has no ethical issues in manipulating an ignorant reality TV star.
Putin is an incredibly calculative politician, rebuilding ties means he expects this new administration will stand to do little in obstructing any expansionism or other controversial military moves Russia may take The only way this relationship works is on Putin's terms, and so far Trump's attitude tells us he will be oblige [editline]28th January 2017[/editline] I think it's incredibly naive to think Trump of all people will somehow build a legitimate diplomatic relationship with Putin and Russia, and not just be manipulated by one of the worlds most dubious/shrewd politicians
So did the U.S;
Oh boy its another episode of historical revisionism in the name of defending a violent autocrat.
Everything went downhill when the U.S. upped its support for Libyan rebels and it spooked Russia's allies. Russia under Medvedev's presidency allowed the U.S. no fly zone under humanitarian a pretext.
It wasn't a US no fly zone, France was actually the first country to ask for it and from the beginning made it clear it wasn't purely on humanitarian grounds. The US had only sanctioned Libya by that point.
But then, the U.S. escalated that to full on military intervention without UNSC consent.
An outright lie, the UNSC approved of it with 10 in favor, 0 against, and 5 abstentions including Russia who could have used their veto power.
Clearly there is cause for distrust.
Yeah it's called annexing Crimea and not agreeing to a ceasefire but it's convenient to the narrative so don't even mention Ukraine right.
Putin was pissed at both Medvedev and the United States, and probably thought the U.S. was trying to undermine Russian interests.
Of course he does. He has a virulent, pathlogical distrust of America and the West.
I don't give a shit what you say, the USA and Russia, two major super powers, not being constantly at each others throats is a good thing. No more cold war BS.
yeah instead we can just have a cold war with china!
