• Hp Dv6000 Chill now

Finally I decided to crack my hp dv6000 open. My main goal was to clean out the fans, and any dust collected around the heatsinks. It was tedious getting it open, but I finally accessed the fan. There was a considerable amount of dust, but not much on the actual heatsink. I cleaned it all off, and reassembled it. Now looking at HWmonitor, my temps are very low, I am soooo glad I did this. The fan hasn't kicked in overdrive like it usually would, and it is quiet. Unfortunately I raped the power button and speakers. I am hoping I just forgot to hook them back in the mobo, but if not I need to get on ebay and get new ones. Fuck me. But still I am glad I did this, now I can play games without my pc auto shutting off.
Thank God for that. I was getting worried.
Well I switched the media touch control ribbon to the power/sound ribbon. So at least I have sound now, but I don't have the touch controls. I guess it's no big deal, I am going to probably get some spares off ebay this week. Still was worth it, my laptop is friggin cool now.
Did you apply any new thermal paste to any of the heatsinks? I know my DV9000 didn't even have any on the GPU.
No I need to though, I will probably pick some up and do that. But just cleaning out the dust helped dramatically.
