What about texture resolution?
The game looks bad in a lot of places because of the godawful texture resolution even on insane (which uses 3gb of VRAM despite having no visual benefit)
I mean seriously the skyboxes are attrocious

Are you sure you aren't playing on a X360?

We must be playing two different games.

If these skyboxes are worth 3gb VRAM
unless your game somehow has higher res skyboxes because everybody I've played with has noticed the same thing
The skyboxes aren't the worst texture - there's little parts in each map that stick out like a sore thumb because its texture is so insanely lower res compared to everything surrounding it.
Honestly I think the skyboxes are worse just because they are something that you can't really view from a distance. So like on angel city you can clearly make out which is a building in the 3d skybox and which is a fake 2d building that's part of the 2d one.
Don't get me wrong I love the game, but I can't remember the last game I bought where you could notice stuff like this on a skybox without even needing to zoom in.

Odd, I'm playing on the Xbox One and it doesn't look nearly that bad. I'll try to get images.

I just got done playing that level 4 mins ago, it looked way better than that.
To be honest, the game moves way too fast for me to just stop and stare at textures to think, "this looks really low res," or "that skybox looks really shitty."

Nah they look that bad but if you're playing on a 720p T.V it might look a bit better I suppose

I agree, the ones I noticed it was because the campaign made you stop and look at it.
And well, this, when I followed an enemy back here

once I get a nvidia GTX 780 ti after april, I'll be nice to see this

Battlefield 3 is like that too, where you can get to a spot and see tree sprites from up close.

I mean I'm playing on a 60 inch television screen, so I'd feel like I'd notice any low resolution skyboxes. I don't think the 720p is going to effect the appearence of the texture quality all that much.
Well if you upscale it to 1080 its going to stand out more because the textures are a bit stretched no?
I use a 40inch 1080p t.v for my computer monitor/entertainment and when I play titanfall on Xbox One I can assure you it looks that bad
titanfall is not a good looking game, period

But that shouldn't have to happen. There is just no excuse for shit like that.

Exactly this, you're usually too busy bouncing off walls and blowing things up to notice that gun textures aren't 4k
Man that looks like ass.
Good thing you only see them once, unless for some reason you're into playing the campaign multiple times through.

Insane quality textures are a waste of time. It just loads uncompressed textures that are the same resolution as the compressed textures. It was the same way with Doom 3's ultra quality textures.

This is a flagship title for the Xbox One?
I never expected cryengine supercomputer level graphics out of this game so I'm not really upset about the level of fidelity. And even then, art design is timeless, fidelity isn't.

these are the best examples on how to not argue about why players shouldn't complain about bad graphics

I'm not a graphics whore, so I don't care if a game doesn't look the absolute best. The most important thing is that the game is fun and playable, which is true for both.
The game doesn't have good textures because they thought uncompressed audio was more worthy of 38GB of space
lol

Titanfall's texture's aren't bad. It looks quite pretty on Insane.
