I might want to sell my computer and build something that is cheaper.
I don't play video games a lot anymore and I don't really care about running games on the high quality now either.
It's really overkill for what I'm doing now.. mapping for gmod, starcraft, and just using the internet.
It is about 2 years old.
[release]
Specs:
Windows 7 32-bit
NFORCE 680i LT SLI
Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU E6550 @ 2.33GHz (2 CPUs), ~2.3GHz
2048MB RAM
NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTS 320mB
2 hard drives: 160gB and 180gB
750watt power supply
[/release]
It has an aftermarket cooler for the cpu and gpu too, and new fans.
Here's a pic of it. It looks dusty now, but I have cans of compressed air waiting for it, if I sell it.

My goal is to sell this, build a low end computer, and have some cash left over.
Ehh is my computer worth much money??
I'll say you could get 500$ on craigslist. Is that what you were hoping for?
I'll say you could get 500$ on craigslist. Is that what you were hoping for?
Whoa. That's a lot more than I expected.
[editline]12:59AM[/editline]
I should've done this a year ago.
Off to craigslist I goo!!!
Any more prices?
450$.
I see you're using one of those cheap iCute cases if I'm not mistaken.

What's iCute lol?
Oh, it's a coolermaster case.

Never mind.
Exterior case looks like crap, thing is most people set most of there thoughts and how it looks and how big the numbers and words are for the individual parts, if you got a new case you could probably get a extra 100 for it $600
I think the case is fine, just dust/clean it so it looks nicer.
I'd honestly just keep that machine and get a video card that didn't chew up as much power and put out as much heat. Something like a 4770 would work decently.
I don't see that as overkill at all.

Agreed.
Your PC isn't that bad.
By the way, I'm surprised that GiGaBiTe is still in here.
Don't sell that comp. You can upgrade to a much higher video card since your running 750w. If its too slow, try getting a new mobo with a core i7. But i wouldn't sell it if you just plan to make another one.
If you were to sell it, i'd say.... 400 if you included a monitor, 300 without.
Why have you got that massive heatsink if the CPU isn't overclocked.
Overclock it and then put EXTREME OVERCLOCKING 3GHZ+++ in the title

I have a very very large Coolermaster Hyper Z600 with two 120mm fans and I don't OC. It's just nice to have a quiet, quality cooler that you know can handle any load in any ambient temperature you throw at it.
Or you could sell it now, and sell it to someone who doesn't understand video cards.
But whether you keep that thing or not. Blast it with piss. errr I mean, compressed air.
Vacuum Cleaner is all I can say to that. That'll increase the worth.
I think it would be cool to turn this in to a thread where everyone posts all their parts, how much they cost when buying them, and how much they cost now(if the product isn't sold anymore, find something that is as close to what you bought as possible technology wise, if there isn't anything close, find something below and above it and go somewhere in between i guess).
Make sure you photoshop in lens flare, it helps everything sell.
Also clean that thing up, dust ruins all black cases. Instead of getting a new case for it you could paint the interior matte black. It makes all cases look nicer as long as the case is black that is.
Also same proccessor, my E6550 sucks for overclocking, barely got to 2.8Ghz stable.

Actually it will decrease the value greatly, if it successfully destroys the mobo.
Compressed air > Blowing > Vaccum
Was about $1.1k/1.2k when I bought it.
I started cleaning it up.

What's the cheapest build you can buy that can run source games?
You did turn it off when you clean it right?
And the cheapest including Mouse, keyboard, and monitor?

Without keyboard, mouse, and monitor.
Around as much as you can sell that.
Sauce games aren't that hard to run.
[editline]10:43PM[/editline]
Also I'd keep that 750w.
Sauce means Source btw.

Whoops, I accidentally sucked a line of resistors off the board, it's dead now :saddowns:
I agree, compressed air is much better. Though for a job as nasty as the OPs, it's much cheaper to use an air compressor, or in which case unavailable, take the machine apart and throw the non-electronics in the sink and wash them out. Just make sure you dry them so they don't start corroding.
I was hoping to sell it for $500 and then build a pc that can run source games for $300 (no peripherals, monitor)?? if that possible I'm not that good at choosing parts. Then I'll have $200 left over, which I need for something non-computer related.
But I'm not sure if I should sell it now as other people are telling me to keep it.
If you are going to sell it, tidy those cables up. I've no idea if that case has a window, but if you then advertise using pictures with the side off, it looks much better.
What case is that, btw? Looks like one of the Coolermaster Elite series?
EDIT: One minor thing, can you move that optical drive to the top bay? It just looks odd in the middle, which might put buyers off. You know what they're like...

215$ and then you could throw a GPU in there, that costs less then 85$. Heck. I think I might buy that too.

maybe an even cheaper case, get it sub $250
WHY IN THE GOD-DAMN FUCK IS THERE A 32-BIT OS ON THERE!?
Doesn't really matter, If I bought that PC I'd wipe the drive and install my own Windows 7 64-bit anyways. My system is actually very close to that one.
