I'm sorry if this is too specific but I want to match my primary monitor(they don't sell them anymore ಥ_ಥ) because I will have them side-by-side. If you know of any good monitors or know a good website to look for them, please let me know. Currently I'm looking at these two: Acer S230HLAbii Black 23" - Has better reviews but higher price. Acer V233HAJbd Black 23" - Some bad reviews but it closely resembles my primary monitor. Can you post a picture of your old monitor
Do you have any other suggestions before I buy anything? please don't buy acer monitors they are awful http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824001484 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236059 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236174

I added it to the original post. Thanks for the suggestions.
I agree with Odellus, don't get an Acer. I had a TN based Acer and I know you have to expect some color banding with a TN panel, but it was horrible. Games like Crysis and Deus Ex HR were hard to look at because of the visible gradients.
The ASUS VS Series VS247H-P is definitely staying on my list. I'm just looking for other monitors to compare.
My friend got one of these: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824001487 I've always liked Samsung displays, never had any problems with any of them
Samsung displays are brilliant, all mine are Samsungs

Even my phone! I've never had a problem what so ever.
Anyone know about a good 1080p monitor, in that same range of price, that has the best color quality ? (mostly for drawing/painting use)
Get this OP! http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001LYWBOM It's fantastic. Also, please please please don't get a monitor off Newegg, unless theres some crazy deals going on. If it arrives with 1-2 dead pixels, you're fucked. Amazon has an amazing policy. I told them the buttons aren't sturdy for this black friday TV I got, they took it back, and gave me the TV's price + 50 dollars in Amazon credit.
Overpriced monitor. Some betters posted above. And Newegg is just fine.
Overpriced monitor. Some betters posted above. And Newegg is just fine.
Newegg is fine for anything except monitors and tv's. Newegg's policy on dead pixels on arrival is awful. My friend ordered that first monitor in the OP, 8 dead pixels, but, scattered. Newegg refused to take it back since they have to be bunched together and the area of like a dime, and Acer charged him 100 bucks for repairs. Totally lame. Amazon's excellent when it comes to returns due to dissatisfaction with anything though, so it's a safer bet. Also, it's not overpriced. It's pretty fantastic, and one of the best rated on Newegg.
Anyone know about a good 1080p monitor, in that same range of price, that has the best color quality ? (mostly for drawing/painting use)
Best 1080p monitor in the $150-200 range is this one. 1020x1080 S-IPS panel. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236205 Ignore the 14ms response time listing, it's 5ms. http://usa.asus.com/Display/LCD_Monitors/VS229HP/#specifications I would recommend the OP get it, but it's only 21.5" and it might look weird beside his current one.
Your title indicates you want monitors more expensive than $200.
Your title indicates you want monitors more expensive than $200.
Depends how you look at it.
My friend got one of these: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824001487 I've always liked Samsung displays, never had any problems with any of them
I think I'm gonna go with this one unless there is something better suggested in the next 24 hours.
I bought three of the first monitor you've posted in the OP when it was only $119 for Black Friday, thesem monitors are amazing
Depends how you look at it.
I don't really want to draw this out. > is the greater than symbol. So no matter how you look at it '>$200' = 'greater than $200'. I was wondering if you were actually looking for expensive monitors.

The last one on my list (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824009255) is $30 off with the promo code than ends 12/12. WHAT DO?

Do yourself a favour and go with an Asus or a Samsung, even if it costs a bit more. [editline]11th December 2011[/editline] I'd like to add that Rings of Saturn should feel bad for recommending you one.

The Samsung's reviews aren't as good. I'm stuck between these two monitors. I really need more opinions. I got this bad boy not long ago, 3D ofcourse and it works wonderful.. http://www.lg.com/us/computer-products/monitors/LG-led-monitor-D2342P-PN.jsp

Wahahaha. Reading user reviews, that's hilarious. You do realize the people with the most incentive to review a product are the people who have issues right? Do you really think everybody who ever bought that monitor left a review? Pfft, ya right. That acer you're looking at will be $129 after the code and the current sale, that's a good deal. You're going to have noticeable color banding/visible gradients because Acer panels aren't as good as ones from Asus and Samsung. Whether that's a fair trade off for saving $70 is up to you, but you're stuck with the monitor once you buy it, and if the color banding annoys you then you'll have to deal with it. On the other hand if you don't notice it much or just don't care then it's a good buy for that price.

The Samsung looks better (IMO), but the Acer is cheaper. What would you do if you had to choose?
