Trump executive order cracks down on abortion funding

[QUOTE]Donald Trump has signed an executive order to ban federal money going to international groups which perform or provide information on abortions.
The US president's order shows he "wants to stand up for all Americans, including the unborn," his press secretary Sean Spicer said.
The executive order - known as "the Mexico City Policy" - is likely to concern pro-choice groups, already wary of his anti-abortion stance.
Mr Trump supports a US abortion ban.
But this is not the first time a ban has been put in place. Republican President Ronald Reagan first created the Mexico City Policy in 1984 introducing the ban, only for the Democrats to later rescind it under the Clinton administration.
The policy requires non-governmental organisations receiving federal funding to agree to "neither perform nor actively promote abortion as a method of family planning in other nations".
In 2009, Barack Obama ended the ban, which had been reinstated under President George Bush's tenure.

"wants to stand up for all Americans" he says as he cracks down on the options of the mothers. What a joke.
this has been bouncing back and forth between republicans instating the policy and democrats removing it for years now
Remember when people could choose what to do with their own bodies without having the government look down its nose at them? I do too.

Pretty much
From what I know, every Republican President has done this, it seems like it is expected by them - just like how it is expected that each democrat president do the opposite.

is it this one of those back and forth political party things where they just do it to piss off each other

im sorry, when was this?
Didn't republicans criticize Obama for abuse of executive powers (except in that case, if I am not mistaken, some of those instances were last resorts when Republicans did not cooperate and acted as obstructionists instead)?

That doesn't make it okay, though.

He had the chance to break the mold of all the other presidents that went before him, but no, he didnt take it, instead continuing down the same asinine route, and even deeper at that, instead of making the decisions that would have seen him become a well-liked President of the United States. But I guess it's too much to expect the likes of Trump to think in any terms except how to pander to his vote bank.

So are we allowed to criticise him now or do we still have to wait?

What's next? A bill that proposes life begins at ejaculation? Masturbation deemed illegal as doing so is considered mass murder.

I don't. In fact most social issues have gotten more liberal over the last several hundred years.

What's the issue
Why should the US pay for healthcare in other nations?

These kind of comments are posted in every abortion thread, but from their perspective it is the same thing as killing a newborn infant. "Choice" has never been the issue at stake. Ignorance is.
I don't think that people realize just how insulated the american republican/christian community really is. You can talk about the facts all that you want, but they'll never see them, and they'll never trust the people that try to explain it to them.
It really doesn't help either when people turn it into a "choice" issue, because that couldn't possibly sound more unethical to the uneducated.
